Hi guys, hoping I can get some help. I have a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 and have never updated any of the software or OS on it, which I decided to do. I started following this guide here to the letter:
Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 : Install Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Value Pack
Now for all intents and purposes it worked, I followed the guide to the letter. Odin originally came up with a 'Fail' message, I clicked start again and it said it was successful:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> CODE_I9000XXJVU_CL851880_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> MODEM_I9000XXJVU_REV_00_CL1092175.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVU.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..

<ID:0/004> Removed!!

Now my phone won't start at all and just comes up with an image of a phone and a computer with an exclamation mark.
So, I was wondering how I can fix this, whether it be a matter of trying again or trying with a different OS update, or restoring it to how it was. I'm a little technologically incapable but I will do my best, and don't want to do anything else until I know it will work!
Thanks in advance :)

This simply means the flashing was incomplete ..most likely due to incorrect firmware.

you need to ascertain your phone model , if it is variant, galaxy S has 23 variants...and their firmwares are not the same for all of them

All you need to do is make sure you get the correct firmware based on your phone and country

boot up odin and plug in, it will enter download mode, as it is currently stuck in download mode.

so flash again and if your firmware was correct..you should have no problem in rebooting

Thanks people, I tried it again and it worked fine. I am now having issues with my battery life and I'm not getting any 3G, but I will post this in another topic if I can't find the answers on here already :)
