{GSM}EVO 3D ICS update

Received notification of ICS update this morning. Finally the wait is over for us. Now should I reset my phone before the update or after update?

If you are not rooted, and don't intend to root, then simply take the update, you are all in for a treat, enjoy :smokingsomb:

Is there a trick to getting this? I checked my phone and I have nothing available. I'm in the home market for Sprint in the Kansas City metro area.

Thanks

If it is anything like the GB update, keep checking every 15-20 minutes - it may not be available right now, but will be available soon.

They roll it out is sections, you will simply have to keep checking, as the other poster mentioned GB was the same issue, otherwise they would back log their serves and no one would be able to download the release ;)

First we need to find out id this a release for Sprint, or is it a release for GSM, as another forum mentioned the release was most likely for GSM, so the first 2 posters can you confirm you are CDMA on Sprint

I personally would not do that, I would simply wait for one of the Devs to post the update, I am sure it will be released as soon as one of them get there hands on it, we need to see if this is an actual CDMA Sprint release and I had not though of that, LOL

Is it possible to use root keeper update then root back?

Good advice. We're waited this long. I'd be pissed if I lost root. Was a pain to begin with. Yea it may be for GSM. I read the same on a another site...

Even though it might not be for CDMA Sprint phones, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before everybody gets it. ツ

Correct, coming to a theater near you Rush SOON I promiss :smokingsomb:

This update is for GSM EVO 3d only. Everywhere except the U. S. Sprint's ICS update will probably be another month. July most likely the date.

I hope this update will be worth it. This wait feels much longer than that of Gingerbread. ✘

Very nice , I don't know why they r using the sense 3.6 if the sense 4.0 is out, but ok, the system is a little bit faster and use less memory (about 80 Mb) .. and the only problem is that this thing doesn't see any Adhoc networks, and my old ZTE Racer with 2.3.7 can ! Android 4.0 is able to connect to adhoc right ? or is a root problem for me ?

Just updated my EVO 3D GSM to ICS. So far everything seems Ok except Apps seems to take a second longer to open. No idea why is it happening.
By the way can't find the face unlock feature. where is it hidden?

Do i need to unroot the phone before updateing cause i got the notification downloaded the update and tried to install it but it failed did any one else had this kinda problem ???

If you want to stay rooted, it is usually a good idea to skip the OTA update and wait for the 'safe' version of the ROM to be made available. If HTC messed with the bootloader, you may not be able to root again easily. (assuming of course that you didn't root using HTC DEV)

i used the htc dev method to unlock the bootloader and the installed the revolutionary thingy then rooted it so is it safe or i should wait for the ROOT "SAFE" Rom
