decreased battery life on ICS?

OK so i am on my 3rd day on ICS (i manually upgraded), and seems like the battery life has been horrible compared to GB...i know it takes a few days to integrate itself but this seems like it's getting worse im at 60% after 5+ hours...I use to be at 90% after 5+ hours with GB...any suggestions? or do i need to wait it out?

Is your phone hot? Twice since install, my phone got very hot and the battery drained at a VERY high rate. Turns out a Linux process called /init was running and sucking the juice from the battery. Only way I found to stop it was to do a reset. Once it happened while streaming a game on MLB At Bat, and once it happened just sitting in my pocket for no apparent reason.

Turn off LTE. Since it defaults to LTE and they made it more difficult to do so it's a pain. But it will help save some battery life.

my phone isn't hot at all...it's not even warm

Why would i turn off LTE?...i live in a 4G area...but i turn off my data during work via smart actions...and use wi-fi at home

I am noticing a few issues, but wanted to wait if just one-off events.

Device gets hotter when playing games

Random reboots (one a day that I catch)

Battery life even in 3g mode seems less than before the update.

I started clean, so not an update conflict.

Like everything else in life, got some good new things and a few bad things.

I wonder if it is really the update, or perhaps my battery has hit its half life prematurely.

No problem, I'll just get a battery exchange! Oh, wait....... ;) .......... :(

I know this was meant as a joke, however, if it really were your battery, wouldn't you be able to get the phone replaced with manufacturers warranty?

I have noticed my phone seems to be draining a little more quickly today than usual. But I've been playing with it a little more than usual trying to figure out how to make it do the stuff it used to do.

I have the official rollout. Battery is still draining quicker than it did before. But I'll give it a few days to stablize so I have time to stop playing with it.

OK but your phone was probably part of the soak test. I'm saying when the phone is past the testing phase and officially in rollout stage and everyone gets the update the bug will be fixed.

That's just freaking great, man. It isn't like the puny battery in the Razr is all that to begin with and now with the update we can expect crappier battery life?!? Oh that just makes my day.....

Yes, but far more of a problem since not just the battery to replace. SG3 should be out in two weeks so I will reduce the gaming and the reboot does not happen enough to impair use.

Not worth a return as a result of time. I think it could be the battery more than the update, but others are mentioning it too.....

Perhaps an app not liking ICS, or vice versa.

People beyond soak have already gotten the official update and is the 211 rom, so if an update is coming, it can not be 211.

Seems everyone would first need to update to 211 and then get an update patch.

After reading the link, looks like there was a rom before 211 that was the issue, since the rom I have has global roaming.

Thing is I am having issues that were not apparent the first day of use since updating.

I notice I am also more upside down when using 4g and charging at same time. It used to be a slight net negative while charging and now the difference is significant. Strange.

i got the ICS update last night, then did a reset this morning, and a top off to 100%, but so far, battery life is horrible. down to 70% in only 45 mins of heavy use (loading apps, etc)! ouch!!

but i'll be patient...... lol

My battery life has gotten way better. GB battery life was awful for me.
