If you are using 3G, Edge or GPRS while the first use of market start. It WILL force close, and you can't prevent it. NOT a ROM error.

As downloading play store update over these data networks is not as fast as the MarketUpdater.apk wants it to. Therefore it FC's the market.

Try catching a Wi-Fi in your area. Or use a laptop Connectify Hotspot to get any Modem connection to tether to your phone and let all the apps update to latest versions first. Then you won't get any FCs...
 
For the update thing....here is my trick.

Before flashing the new ROM......just download the latest Google Play app over any the computer via 3rd party.
Then once the Rom installation is over.....simply install the new update via going to file explorer. of sdcard. It asks if are u sure u wanna replace the user data.....you press yes. wallah!!! Google play is updated :D

~ Installation Procedure ~

*****************************************************************

1) Download the Package You Wanna Flash, and then Transfer it to the Root of your SD/Transflash (External) Card.
2) Switch Off Your Cellphone and Say Goodbye to your Current ROM
3) Next, When Your Feel The Shutdown Vibration is Over Press and Hold Power Button + Volume Up Key to boot into the ClockWorkMod Recovery v5
4) You CANNOT use the Touch Screen here, so Navigation would be with the Volume Up/Volume Down Key's.
5) Navigate to the option, Clean User Data using Volume Down Key and then Press the Menu Hard Capacitive Button to Enter it.
6) Inside the option you would see an array of "NO" but only one "YES" option. Goto the "YES" option and clear it.
7) After that follow the same steps and goto the option Clean Cache. Clear it too.
8) Now, go into Advanced and clear Dalvik Cache and Battery Stats.
9) Select Go Back to come back to the Main Screen.
10) Go Up, and select Apply Update from SD Card. In the next screen select "YES".
11) Flashing would take around 3 minutes. But do not power down, remove battery. Try to maintain power at all costs, else once your power is gone during flashing. You can very much use your phone as a brick in building your own house. Just that brick alone would cost Rs. 9000... :D
12) After the Screen Displays the word Installed Update.. You are done!
13) Now the tricky part, DO NOT even try to do Fix Permissions from the Recovery. It's a sure Bootloop then.
14) Just simply after flashing, head to Reboot System and let it start up.

As yet, there is no download link for v1.1. But download link is the "Download CeltICS Base ROM Package v1.0". But this version has some bugs about the Graphics of some Icon's and has a un-calibrated lockscreen. So I recommend waiting for the v1.1 as it will fix them.

As i Know you want to change Networkicon background to black or transparent..rigth?
So why dont you just edit .Png of respective images and made them trasperent or black...from path
system\framework\mtkBase-res.apk\res\drawable\sim_background_***_*.9.png

Even it will be help full that u only change 2 of these colour to black or transparent....So that those who want can use rest of the remaining background colours;)

It does help bro, and I've already done that. Thanks for bringing it up for my reference. :) Great Source of Info....

The last thing I am stuck now is the Network Icon Background in the System Status bar. It's not ready to go down...

In total, I've found 127 smali's and xml's with roots of it connected to displaying that icon background image. And surprisingly, I cannot even find those images being displayed!! If I could even get the clue, where those images are, then I could easily disable them!

I'm just wasting days finding it. And tomorrow is the last. After that, I gotta leave developments... :( WTH!!

EDIT: Found the Network Backgrounds.... CeltICS v1.1 Rolling out on 2nd July 2012 @ 4:00pm IST on ADProgrammer Developments Website. Changelog will be posted here. For features, screenshots and everything else, Please visit my website.
 
Aayush please change the color of clock's font(its black)and charging stats below the clock,its hard to read them.
Next,I have found Silverlite much better ROM than this one hence I am waiting for v.1.1 release,else will switch over to S.lite ROM.

You are free to switch over... You find that ROM better, it's your choice.

Stock Micromax ROM cannot become better than the ROM's of other cellphones. It will still stay MMX'ed, no matter how much I change it. I'll do what I can about the Clock.
