Weird - I follow your instructions exactly but after I click on app info the next screen has buttons for "Force stop", "Uninstall updates", "Clear data" and "Share", nothing to disable.
System button from homescreen and then manage apps...then when you click on an app from there if will give you the option to disable.

I have found that when your only options are the ones you listed you must "uninstall updates"....after that is done you go back to it and you will have the option to disable that app.
Still don't see how to do this.
For instance, MOG app. I don't want this showing. Used to be able to long press, and a hide option would show.
If I go into apps, I get what is quoted above, nothing to disable. If I do unistall updates, it says it will return this to factory. That doesn't work.
There must be a simple way for these not to show in my apps. Too much bloatware, that I don't mind them putting there, but do mind showing. I like my app drawer neat;-)
I have been a long time fan of launcher pro. But i do agree with you. I am currently experimenting with Go Launcher. I wish that i did not have to use a home replacement but to my knowledge there is no other way to apply themes.
Check out Nova Launcher ... 10x better than LauncherPro IMO
Press apps at the bottom, then at the top you will see widgets in the middle, scroll through these, hard press what you want to addNot sure if this has been brought up, but wondering if it's possible to do this. In Gingerbread if you held down your finger on the home screen it gave you the option to add programs, widgets, shortcuts, etc. In ICS if you hold down your finger on the home screen it brings up the option to change the wallpaper. Anyone know if it is possible to add the Gingerbread options instead of just adding wallpaper? Biggest pet peeve so far, other than that so far so good!
I don't know if I just didn't notice this before ICS, but it became aparent today. I use navigation a lot especially since I just moved to a new area. I've always been mildly annoyed by the robot voiced turn by turn instructions and I'm sure it was there as recently as last week, but today I heard a pleasantly natural female voice guiding me on my drive. I don't recal reading that this was an ICS improvement, but there she is.
Ever since ICS loaded on my phone, my contact favorites on my home page has numerous duplicates of people. I have searched and searched how to correct this problem. Used to be you had a certain number of contacts on your phones home page, now I have 45 people and most are duplicates. Anybody have any idea how to fix this?
I am also confused ..."Disable built-in app?" "If you disable a built-in app, other apps may misbehave"Once you uninstall updates the option to disable will be there. You may need to restart the phone if it isn't showing up.
The only two that I have had trouble disabling have been Device Setup and Guided Tours.

What kind of gamble am I taking about affecting other apps?
Well just discovered built in folders for apps.. but not in the app drawer. When on any of your dedicated screens you can drag an app on top of another one and create a folder works in the app dock as well.
Open Contacts>Menu>Contacts to display> make your choices. (I had lots of them in the Verizon Backup, so I exported them to Google and no longer display anything from Verizon. I also disabled Backup Asst and it's not even an option anymore. Google is my default for all new ones now)
Funny. I've been using Go Launcher for over a year, but now I'm completely stock. This version of Blur is Moto's best work to date, imo. The only thing I miss from GL is the scrollable dock.
I too dropped Go Launcher...I do miss some of the customization especially in the app drawer, but the new blur is nice. I cannot let go of Dolphin Browser yet though...
In the app drawer just click on all apps in the top left corner and click new group.I was also shown that with 2.3 I was able to make groups in the app drawer.. If they would let me organize the apps in the order I want now, I would love the os 100%
