What is (was) the 'GPS fiasco'

In a few threads there is mention of a GPS fiasco on the S3. What does this refer to?

I dont think there is one. That generally refers to Samsung's handling of the Captivate GPS. Which went on to plague the Infuse as well. But, they finally managed to get it right with the S2. The S3 is just amazing for it speed and accuracy. Alot of people are still bitter about getting stuck with a poor GPS that was never rectified completely.

for speed of lock on GPS
and accuracy on google maps.
