The right Android phone for me ?

Get an UNLOCKED Nexus One (the t-mobile version). Then, every country you got to, get a Pay as you go (mobicarte) sim card. That way, you can use 3G wherever you go.

Thanks for the answers :)
EDIT: also, since you only need it by september.. I've heard rumours of the nexus officially coming here late spring-summer.

That would be nearly perfect I suppose.

Bluenova : The HTC Desire look very interesting !
Do you know if anything better is announced just after ?
Something with a Tegra processor for example.

I see price around 600

That's refreshing. Most people are looking for "the best" as if there's one single device that everyone in the world wants.

I mostly want to use it for GPS (Wifi and offline preferably because 3G is too expensive)
You need to also look into GPS apps then. If you mean GPS nav apps, the ones I've seen with maps stored on the SD card offer maps in regions (charging for each additional region in many cases).

I would be very grateful if someone could advise me on actual devices (like Motorola Droid, Nexus One, HTC, etc.)
You can scratch the Droid off your list. It's CDMA only. The Milestone, its GSM counterpart, however, may be an option but I'm not aware of its specifications.
