Root [Verizon] Fixing browser text reformating with zoom

I am missing auto text reformatting with zoom while browsing. Having to scroll right and left with each line is frustrating. I''ve tried Opera and Dolphin and all do the same thing.

I am not yet rooted and have never had a custom Rom. I am trying to understand iwhat chance there is for a solution for the problem mentioned via a Rom or simply with a root and an apk. If I go custom Rom, wIll I have to give up all of Touchwiz?

I am a total noob with regard to rooting and roms so I don't fully understand what a Rom can fix and what all the consequences are.
 
I use Opera Mobile daily, both before and after rooting. Never had this problem. I wonder if it is more tied to the websites you are viewing. Do you have this problem viewing this forum on Opera? For me the reformatting works fine, even if I zoom in crazy huge.

Opera has a "text wrapping" setting. Mine is turned on.
 
Bingo! I was using Opera Mini. Opera Mobile works. I wonder why Dolphin doesn't work. No matter - you have made my day. There are at least 6 threads around the web that could use this info. I will get on the Opera soapbox.

My pleasure. :) So far on 4 Android devices I find Opera Mobile to be the most responsive of browsers while typing, especially into a forum window. I've tried a lot of other popular browsers and each of them have varying degrees of input lag. Never on Opera, at least for me. Some of them are so bad I can't use them at all. Some have really weird side effects.

The Firefox browser, which I use all the time on PCs, will sometimes make a tiny little postage stamp sized text entry box on a smartphone on some forums, and expect you to type in it, PLUS add the input lag. I use it sometimes on Android for specific tasks, but Opera Mobile has been my reliable go-to browser for daily use. I just wish Opera had a lot more plugins available. If they did I might use it more on my PC too.
