i went to settings, ringer volume,and un checked the box for "incomeing call' vol notif...think it helped..could be wrong tho..eating bbq ribs and mashed taters...and workin on pitcher o bud light...keepin phone clean is my current issue..:D
 
Well i updated to this leak and its much better my all day events still show a day early and u can disable the soft key vibrations now. Ever6thing seems much smoother its awesome
 
has any one had an issue after installing the latest leak where the keyboard only typed q's when in portrait mode? calibrating the keyboard fixed that issue.

I saw around page 5 someone mentioned an issue with facebook and they are getting "Cannot Post Status at this time please try again later [200/feed story publushing is disabled for this application]". I get this message everytime I try to comment on my wall wall, someone elses wall, liking things, etc. I don't see any settings for the feed story settings. Has anyone else besides the two of us run into this?

FYI--I have a Belkin G+N router at home and my phone didn't even recognize the regular setup I had for my computer network. I went into the routers settings via browser and went to a "guest wireless" setup, like for hotel users, etc. and it sets up another completely different wireless profile that doesn't have access to your home computer network. That wifi profile is the one that my phone sees now and works great. Even flashing to new OS's doesn't seem to lose the wifi address info for all my hotspots.

Interesting! I would be curious to see what the setting are for the "guest account"... Generally those hotel accounts redirect your browser to the hotel website and you login from there with your name and room number or a code they print on your card key holder.
When you connect your phone to this profile, are you prompted to enter a pass-code, even if it was only the first login? I am guessing no...
 
Ok so 8pages in....what is different about this leak compared to the last one - other than Gmail login - I have heard "snappier" but 2.1 is pretty snappy so isnt it likely that this new found snappyness is due to the fresh install?
 
Seems like it bricked my phone. Pretty sure I know what I'm doing when it comes to this kinda stuff.

Phone started up, Verizon logo, shut down. Nothing after that.

The signal bars appear to be working correctly.

Nope, the music player is apart of HTC Sense. As long as you have Sense on your phone the music player will be there. What problems are you having with it? Mine works great. FWIW, you can always download another music app from the market.
 
Mine seems to be running smooth with the new leak. I no longer have the gmail login error.
However, I still have problems with gmail images, More HTC Widgets, and finding certain apps in the market. Hopefully, those will be fixed with the final version.
 
Haven't rebooted since install about 2hrs ago and cell standby is showing only 1% without a signal which could have been during boot time?

All I did was upload the file. I know it took a little while after the Verizon logo came up for me. God, I hope your phone didn't get messed up Smacky.

Anybody else using my link have problems? Let me know so I can pull it if there are any.
 
mornin' all, well at least in my part of the country.

for those interested:
...really lovin' the new software. i enjoy that the vibrate is a bit more, how should i put it...milder. along with the haptic feedback. when i downloaded the update, since i don't have a long list of apps, i just wrote them down and downloaded them from the market again...along w/urban spoon, which i've been waiting so long to get. i don't seem to have very many problems with the exception of one. and for me, it's extremely frustrating. everyone here says that their phone reception and/or bars has significantly been improved. for me, my reception has dumped. i never have more than 2 bars, and need to make sure my 3g mobile network is turned on, or i'll only have one. been only a day, but you would think that it would have at least gotten better over night. *228 & *22899'd my phone. soft reset my phone a few times. no fix. but, overall, the 2.1 is great. i love it. don't love the fact that i don't have reception. maybe i'll try downloading the update again and reinstalling it...after i install appbrain...

I just don't like it. I'll check out some other apps. I guess I'm just to used to the iPod touch. Still haven't gone through with the update. Still reading everyone's comments before I go through with it. I can't afford to go back to my stupid Samsung Sway. lol

Can't he just try again by dling from a different link and throwing that onto the SD card? You initiate the update when the phone is off, so he should be able to try again....in theory....I think......maybe......:confused:
 
i'm still terrified of the possibility that the call problem will still be an issue. i don't think it's worth the risk just yet. maybe in a few days if people don't have that problem.
