Droid razr car dock

No it will not. As mentioned the phone should be naked. I've read here before about people fitting the Maxx with a very this case in a RAZR nav dock, but not the Maxx nav dock.

I just received an Otter Box Commuter case and have the Moto car dock. If you take the extra plastic insert form the car dock the Otter box case fits nicely.

Good to hear that. I ordered the Razr dock instead of the Maxx dock by accident and haven't sent it back yet. My Commuter case and Maxx dock should be arriving today.

I'll have to give it a try this afternoon.
 
It didn't fit with the Otterbox Commuter. I have a Aegis coming this afternoon to try. I am hoping it either fits or is at least easier to take on and off. The Commuter is way too difficult...
 
Well i just ordered one off eBay so when I get it ill let everyone know if it works with the Otter box and ill get some pics of it too. At least if it don't work my wife can use it on hers.

You do need to use a little more effort the get the commuter case to work than a naked phone. I use this every day, and it is not an issue. I also use a bluetooth headset in the car, so it all works for me.
 
I just picked up the car dock a couple days ago. I don't see a plastic insert that can be removed. My desk dock had one that was easily removed. But the car dock, fresh out of the box, doesn't appear to have one.

I know the car dock for the RAZR Maxx does not have a removable piece, but the one for the RAZR is supposed to. Have heard some reports of certain cases on a Maxx fitting the dock for the RAZR with the plastic piece removed and just a little effort.
 
Hmm, I couldn't make it fit even after removing the insert. I'll give it another try after I get the Aegis.

I'm not a fan of taking the Commuter on and off in general. I don't use the case all the time, just when I am doing something "active".

Ok, sorry for the confusion. Still getting used to all this. I've had my phone for five days now. Coming from the blackberry platform.

Not sure that I like the car dock yet. It seems a little on the cheap side. And it's kind of bulky for traveling. I'm looking forward to giving it a try on the next trip.
 
I just got the car dock and it works great! Well worth the $30 bucks! You have to take out the spacer for the Otter box to fit. Its a little snug but not that bad.
