Book readers

I like Kindle as it works with so many different devices. Easy to stay synced up across many more types of devices.

This is the reason I like the Kindle app so much, its currently on 2 pc,s and 3 mobile devices. Google books can also work this way maybe not as easily.

I use Nook because I like the aesthetics of it, and because I have a sizable nook library.

I'm trying to build a book library i already have one book purchased from Google play. I don't know if i should stick to that as my default or use a different third party app.

Nook crashes every time I try to open a file to read, both epubs I put on there, and even one of the book samples included in the app. Any ideas?

I personally use Amazon Kindle there library seems to be way bigger. My first e-reader was Nook thought but they had far fewer books and where more expensive in some cases.

Nook was not bad its just they where little more expensive and they didn't have as complete a collection. I have about 20-30 books on Nook and 50-60 books on Kindle.

Overdrive is pretty good, too. That's the app which my regional library conglomerate uses to distribute Adobe ePub, PDF ebooks and audio books.

All of the apps have their strengths and weaknesses. Kindle app is probably the one that I like the least.

I have found that kindle and nook books are the same price. They both run "deals" for indie writers where they push their books for free to get readers. I have tinkered with writing a book and from my research, nook is more author friendly because you can kind of autopilot to BN as well as other sellers all at once. Also, the BN cut is less. So, there is a chance that there will ultimately be more content on BN.

For me, I like the nook app better, but I have both and don't care if everything is linked to one spot. If something is available on kindle that's not on nook, I'll read it on there. No reason to choose 1 and make it your only option.

Haven't tried reading on any of my devices yet... do they have educational books like college textbooks? I would use the hell outta that!

I have been using a Kindle for a few years now and love it. I couldn't raed a book on a shiney tablet screen, that would really hurt my eyes.

As I live in the UK I can't rent any books yet.

?

I've since opened the same epubs just fine on FBReader and Aldiko.

EDIT: Nevermind! It finally opened on Nook for me. I don't know what the problem was.

I use Google Books. I have a small collection on there and can read from my N7, 3VO or any computer.
I haven't had any problem with it at all on any of the devices. I'll stick with it.

The problem is Google Books doesn't support sideloading (adding books downloaded from sources other than Google Play or ebooks you created yourself). That's what people are looking for.
