I agree it is one of the easiest installs I have ever done. I am sure loving the new leak, absolutely fabulous. The added features and functionality are for me what makes it worth it to me.

God all these people are ******ed, simple damn instructions. calm down and think about what people are telling you for christ sake..
Step 1: stop being a ****** and pay attention
Step 2: download the file from megaupload or wherever (I got mine from Mega)
Step 3: mount your phone to the computer and turn on SDCARD storage and select open folder to view sdcard files once AUTOPLAY pops up on computer
Step 4: drag the downloaded file from computer to the sdcard (NOT A FOLDER JUST THE ROOT OF SDCARD)
Step 5: once its transferred, unmount your phone properly and turn your eris off
Step 6: hold down POWER and VOLUME DOWN simultanously (at the same time) < for all you "special" people
Step 7: let hboot load up and it should automatically check the .img file and should say something like "checking file, wrong image" or something and in top right corner of your screen (PHONE) there should be a little status bar loading thats red or blue, do not pull battery or press any buttons, just let it load
Step 8: click trackball when its done loading update and asks do you want to update
Step 9: enjoy 2.1 L2..
pretty damn simple and takes 10 minutes tops, ..

unless i follow all those, and um yeah that's right it doesn't work. Looking for some suggestions. I know the whole hold call and end or volume and end. Hboot loads tells me it can't find a file, and then goes back to Hboot screen with press send for fastboot or volume up for recover. That's what it's giving me.

I was just looking to see if there were any suggestions.

Sweet, thats all i needed to know.. Almost lol.. Did you just use astro to back it up?

Yup, put it back on with Astro and it's working fine. I did get a notification of "The version of Swype isn't configured for this operating system and may be disabled" or some such but it works just fine.

I havn't put the leak on my phone yet because i'm still a little wary. Is it possible to go back to 1.5 after putting the 2.1 leak on the phone?

@anyone having trouble

1 make sure that you only have one copy of the file on your SD card
2 do not unzip the file
3 the file should not have (1) or (2) at the end
4 if volume button and end do not work try send + end

sorry. it boots up the hboot is auto hi-lighted the i hit track ball, then i gave me the droid with the exclamation

Don't hit the trackball until it asks you to upgrade, that's probably why you got that. Also, don't touch the phone until it asks you to.

It only took mine a minute or two, then it took off. It took about 8 minutes to do the whole thing and restart. It took me another HOUR to get the phone back to where I had it before, lol.

Just checked with a friend who used another link, his phone is bricked as well. Mine still is too. Phone will not start up with or with out SD card. Trying to reinstall the leak does not work. Factory reset does not work.

Two bricks. :(

lol, so when it comes up let it sit on hboot for a few, then it will do its thing . gonna try one more time.

Can someone tell me how to link up my yahoo email account?

In 2.1, it's actually a lot easier than it was in 1.5. Just go to the Mail app, add account, type your Yahoo email address and password, and make sure you select SMTP instead of POP if asked. Also, you cannot access it while using WiFi; only the normal 3G. Hope this helps!
