notification center/widgets?

coming off of a jailbroken iphone 4 i had widgets in my notification center. i notice the notification center is quite lacking on android and im wondering if theres anything i can do to get more use of it.
i dont really like a cluttered springboard full of widgets and switches, with them hiding away in the notification center its not only keep my springboard clean but id be easy to access the widgets from anywhere.

What type of information are you trying to add to the notification shade? You should have the 9 default switches. You can get a lot of information (weather, news, battery info, sports scores) to appear in you notification drawer by getting certain apps. You can also put more switches in there by using Notification Toggle or Widgetsoid (I use to use these with my incredible but the S3 has every switch I use in the shade already).
I use Fancy Widgets and it allows me to show the current temp in the notification bar and more info in the pull down shade. A search in the Play Store might be able to get you everything you need/want.
You might also want to search all of Android Forums (not just the S3 page) since these would work for most devices.

i searched around a little but the plays stores search engine kinda sucks. but yes simple widgets that go in the shade just as you would get for your springboard
