A Couple Of Questions ??

Does anyone know how to stop the phone from converting a longish text message into a multimedia message ?
I've put up with it doing this for weeks now but a couple that I've sent over the last week have been delayed someone along the line and were not received until the middle of the night, in one instance almost 12 hours after I'd sent it.

Also can anyone tell me if it's possible to change email alerts received whilst in the middle of a call ?
I'm getting sick to death of the alert tone playing on full volume in my ear and the phone vibrating like hell when it's on the side of my face.

Thanks in advance.

Yes I wonder it too. On my iphone, when I exceeded sms limit, it would just charge me for 2 sms cost and send it in sms format. But on s3 it just sends a mms message.

Not sure on text length /MMS. But i believe you can turn off in call notifications by going I two call settings, call alerts and then checking / unchecking alerts on call

It's not possible to stop the stock message app from auto converting to mms. You can use a third party message app such as handcent which has the feature, or you can root and apply a modified stock message app.

Yep that's correct. It might be worth mentioning you can't get to call settings through the general settings. You have to open your dialer and press menu.

Cheers for the replies folks.
I've now turned off notifcations during calls even though it's not ideal. I'm often on the phone for quiet a while and it's nice to know when I've received a text. The text alert during a call wasn't a problem. For some reason the text alert during a call is discreet and does not vibrate. It's a shame that you cannot be specific about what alerts you reveive during a call or, better still, how you receive them.

As for the 3rd party message app, the only reason I've stuck with the stock one is because it displays all of my contacts pics where gosmspro only displays some of them.
Does anyone know why gosms does this and is their anyway of fixing it ?
