Should I keep my One X?

I originally bought the SGS3 when I recently switched to AT&T.

Before that I was on Verizon: 2 1/2 yrs with the HTC Droid Incredible, and 3 months with the Droid Razr.

I really love HTC Sense, it's widgets are awesome. I really don't use phones for music and such, that's why I have like 4 iPods.

So I decided to exchange it for an HOX, everything was good for a couple of days but didn't like not hearing the notifications for SMS and e-mails.

So I switched back to the SGS3...

A couple days of that and I was really missing HTC Sense, I really couldn't set the phone up to be as useful for me as the HOX.

So I switched back to the HOX. Now i'm noticing the e-mail issue. I sync with accounts to download all e-mails and I get nothing. Tried messing with the settings, and still can't get it to download all of my mail.

I probably have reached my exchange limit at Best Buy even though they haven't warned me of it.

Kind of frustating. Other than that the phone is pretty awesome.

Not sure what to do at this point.

Are you using stock, gmail or another app? Is it just google you are trying to sync - or hotmail/ outlook?

Not had too much problems myself, but others may be able to help if you give more details of exactly what the issue is.

It seems a shame to get rid of your HOX over what sounds like a relatively minor issue. If you give us some more details I'm sure that someone will help you out.

What exactly is it about emails/notifications that is giving you problems?

Hotmail is switching to Outlook, dunno if this will sort things out. I really hope so, I use 3 email addresses but HM is my primary, it's also the only one that is just my whole name, no numbers or dots.

I have one hotmail account and 2 comcast accounts that I am having problems with not the gmail. The notifications for text aren't loud enough.. and I have found no way to change the email notification sound.

I see you are on At&T. There was an OTA update issued yesterday for AT&T, and some reports are that it has given a volume boost.
The hotmail issue is due to changes made by Microsoft. I don't know - but hopefully this update may fix that as well?
Have you checked if you can get the update? You should get a notification, or you can check manually through settings/ about/ software updates.

There was no notification. Just check manually. The update fixes wifi problems, smoother Internet browser, removed black menu bottom on the bottom and recent app button can be changed to open more then one feature. These are just a few things ive noticed. I have yet to see a changelog.

Everytime I check for update it says checking for a minute or so and then goes back to the button where you select to check for update. Nothing happens, no message nothing.

Wow...best buy is going to put your picture up in all the stores warning of rapid returns...lol!

U have a feel for both phones now, just go with whichever one will do the tasks you need it to do on a daily basis.

No.. not set to smart sync.
My phone wouldn't pickup the OTA so I'm going to manually install it.

Good luck - didn't know you could apply the update manually?

Would be good if you could report back if this fixes your issues (will help others looking at this thread.)

Yeah Best Buy keeps track of it using your drivers license, and I've been scared of them refusing me evertime I've done it, but I guess they will give you some kind of 90 day warning when you've had too many exchanges.. If I could figure out which phone I wanted, I would try it one more time..

Yeah If you go to HTC Support website you can download the update to be installed manually.

So far I really haven't noticed any improvements..

I'm on the fence also...and it only started a day or so ago. I really really love the build quality of the One X, I'm so tempted to just return my GS3 and get the X. I'm just not so hot on all the reports of it being a total lag machine, lack of multi tasking, and reports of low earpiece volume woos.

Damm HTC just a little fix here and there and you would have me.

Sense 4.1 fixes the lag issue, even with a live wallpaper.

I have mods that improve the volume and multi tasking.

I too am going back and forth with both these phones. They both have features I like but I just like the Sense layout and options. Right now I have a GS3 but will probably go back to the One X because the fancy features of the GS3 arent as important as the day to day stuff that I use and like in the One X. I agree They are both great phones! UGH
