Known reception problem's

Has Verizon or Motorola said that there are known reception problem's with the Razr on the OTA ICS update. Because my reception since ICS blow's big time.

There are numerous threads discussing this and yes, they know. A supposed fix is coming. No one knows just when. Once again glad I stuck fast to GB.

If you actually read those threads, you'd know that the lower reception levels (fewer bars) is just a result of Motorola changing how it reports reception. There is no difference is actual signal, if you compare the actual dBm measurements of signal strength they should be comparable.

Anyways, on GB the bars measured the 1X voice connection, regardless of what data connection the phone had. On ICS it now reports whichever data connection it has (IE if it's on 4g the bars measure 4g). Since the voice connection is almost invariably stronger than your data connection, it seems like the signal is worse when it really hasn't changed at all.

Yeah, we know all about the bars being diff on ICS, the dBm and such adnauseum. Apparentley, There are a lot people having dropped calls, dropped data and basically poorer performance with ICS radios. And , yes, there is a supposed fix coming thru some type of update so sig bars and dBm be damned, if someone's phone isn't performing the way it used to then IMHO there is something wrong that needs fixing, and yes, reboots, hard resets and the like have fixed some, but not all, if one reads the various forums. It's really great if yours is working well, not everyone's is. I have no issues either, but since a lot of folks do, I was answering to that. I hope for their sake a fix is forthcoming sooner rather than later. I think it's great we have choices and can choose not to run it or to run it. I chose not. Simple

You are correct that the signal strength was for 1x with GB. Now it is data.
