Help No voice dial

There does not seem to be voice dialing on this phone. Even under the phone icon the mic recognizes what I'm saying but does not make a call. The usual android icon for voice dial is missing. And no Bluetooth voice dialing?

Big omission when this feature has been around for years

no bluetooth voice dialing is a real negative for me. but for direct voice dialing, have you tried the mic that is part of the google search widget? it actually works better than the mic in the phone app.

there are claimed workarounds for bluetooth. i've tried a few and i'm not sold. if you find anything, please post for the rest of us.

I'm on AT&T in the states, and just got pushed an Android updated to 4.04 two days ago. Before this, I could not initiate voice dialing over my Bluetooth headset. With the update, voice dialing has been thankfully restored.

I got the same update, but I am seeing weird results when I use it.

  1. When I use bluetooth to dial, I am prompted "Speak Now". I give the command "call foo bar" (where foo bar is the contact name) and the call goes through. However, if I end the call and make a second call, the prompt "Speak now" isn't as loud. If I make a 3rd call, the prompt is even more quiet and this pattern repeats until I can't hear the prompt at all.
  2. When in car mode, the bluetooth shows connected, but instead of receiving a prompt of "Speak now", the phone appears to hang up the call. (My in car bluetooth says "good-bye".
Have you experienced this problem, or do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?
