Measy X7 - Android TV Box - HDD - ARM Cortex A9

This is how I setup my measy x7

1. I use component connection not HDMI. (my hdmi connection resets the device every reconnection of the TV input or when I turn off the TV and back on.) So I get only low resolution in native display and it has a color sync issues but i manage to solve it by going to display output choosing any resolution and when it ask you to reset just click no.

2. I use ghost commander with samba plugin( I can access now my pc shared thru measy x7. But cannot access device via pc coz no sharing features.)

3. My device is not yet rooted so I cannot have samba server.

4. I have 2TB Samsung Installed and it has minimal heat, plus I installed usb fan at the bottom of the device. So I'm running TTorrent 23hrs a day now with no heat issues. I have partition my Hd into three, all extended logical drive.

5. Video play back is good, torrent downloading is good, my only problem when accessing hd folders sometimes it lags specially if the folder has many files. Sometimes I clear data of the media storage and it eliminates lag but it comes again when media storage is big.

6.Regarding not shutting down properly. I just exit all programs that uses the Hd so if i turned off measy x7 it wont have a problem with the hard disk.

7. Programs I used:
a. ghost commander with samba plugin
b. TTorrent
c. go chat for Facebook
d. flash player
e. perfect viewer
f. meridian mp3 player (can use folder selection)

8. I use to have Google play but i don't use it anymore, coz all programs suddenly not compatible any more. I use other site.

9. The device sometimes hang. specially if running many application. I can live with that.

10. So far the device meets all my purpose and requirements. The question now on my mind is how long is it going to last.

The question now on my mind is how long is it going to last

i did had the device on for like a complete week and i did not had any issue. mine died due a lighning that burn my tv,and media player.

the hardware is not so bad. but the firmware is very bad implemented.

regarding the market you can tweak it using the the fingerpinrt for the samsung galaxy 2 in the build.prop but you need to have the device rooted and also you can brick it if you make a mistake in this part. also you dont have the original firmware so be very carefull before doing any change. due as you know you DONT HAVE suppoprt from measy.

My measy after turning off by remote than back on some application not working properly. I have to restart by setting the display position and when ask to restart clicking yes.

my measy is android 2.3.4

1 - are you trying to do this thought Ethernet / wifi?
if yes. the device does not bring any application to share the hard drive.

you need to root the device and install samba server application. when i did used long time ago only support wifi sharing.

2 - if you want to connect the hd to your pc you need to use the lateral connector the Blue one. and pluggit to you usb port of the pc.

try get support from meassy.

Thank you for your answer Tatubias.

1. I use ethernet connection. I installed Ghost commander with Samba plugin, but it cannot write to the HDD as i mentioned above.

Samba file sharing doesn't work because of the device not routed.

Z4root starts and after "Aquiring root shell..." message return to home screen. The root process unsuccessful of course. I read somewhere that Z4Root is compatible until Android 2.2

2. I'll try it via laptop because my pc is far away from X7.

Btw: Does anyone the rooting process successful on 2.3.4?

1. Unbelievable. I have never thought that HDMI connection made the soft reset
.
.
4. What kind of partition do you have? NFTS, ext3 etc..?

Leopapa,

NTFS

Tatubias,

Do you have the 2.3.4 stock rom for measy x7? someone from freaktab can help us root the 2.3.4 if we can give them the stock rom. Do you also have the adb usb driver for measy?

No, I cant write anythig to the HDD no matter what op. system I use.
.
.
It seems Ghost commander was the guilty --> Astro file manager can see external drives, and able to copy everything to HDD.

I see.

I have a feeling that measy x7 because of not shutting down properly is having a file corruption problem with in the internal memory file system.

I've installed the generic ADB (USB) driver for Windows, but it seems I cannot plug in the Measy as device just like a disk drive :(. As device SuperOneClick should be working.

Anything more on the wifi drivers for RT2870? I've got a slew of them lying around and would like to be able to go to ICS but this is the big problem I'm having. No support for my wifi.

I found some root package for compatible c03ref based board. Modified it to suit my measy X7. Put update.zip in root of FAT32 formatted sdcard and upgrade from local.

Hi Tutobias. I am considering buying Measy X7 Media player and seams like you are the one that is most familiar with that player. Is it good to buy it or there is still problems with the sound and others..Thanks for the answer. Marin

DONT SPENT a CENT on that device. it has not support sofware is outdated. and there it not longer communty that supports the device either.

so GET FAR FAR AWAY FROM MEASY x7

btw: there are at lease 2 versions of the device

1 - has andoird 2.2 and CANT BE UDATED to andorid 2.3 (has lost of bugs)
2 - has andoird 2.3 i have not tested .

but gey away form measy. when you have some issue. they reply 2 3 emails then they dont ever provide any update.

i has long time since the device was released like an year and they did never provided an update or srouce code to fix issues.

droidcage im not providing any longer help to this devie, but it seams that you are suffering also.

let try to make it work.

1 remove any usb stick, hard drive, sd card form the device.

2 . format the SD, copy the update.zip into the root directory of the sd. put the SD into the device.

3 - enter into recovery mode and update the firmware it should work.

4 - if does not read the sdcard. you can update using any usb port.

5 - format the usb stick fat16, copy update.zip into the root directory of the pendrive.

6 - flash the device. keep in mind that sometimes it takes some seconds to the device recognize the usb stick.

basicaly the issue here its that the device is not reading you the SDCARD or the usb stick

format them into fat16 put the update.zip into the root directory and enter into flash mod. thats all it should work.

You're a great help once again.....
I successfully flashed it thanks to you and my....128MB Usb Pen, the fat16/fat format route you mentioned really make sense. I'm currently digging back all your previous post regarding a English language setting(because now all the menu in my machine is in Chinese) if you can give me a jump start on that i'm so grateful.
I'm planning to upgrade the current running android on this machine what do you recommend? Thanks
