Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

although I am on 1.6 r5, I would just wait a few days to see if anything else comes out again like r6 lol. Because there are still to many bugs (wifi doesnt reconnect after sleep, gallery has fc's, no vibrate, no voice search or voice anything that uses it such as handcent, sometimes super user stops working right until phone is restarted)
 
For those that want a working GALLERY... you can use the Desk Clock that is included in the ROM to be able to view all your photos on your SD CARD. Just click CLOCK from the App Drawer and then choose the second tab that has a little photo/play button.

Alternatively, I have tested Nemo Player to also do a good job with photos found in the SD Card.
 
Thanks for the port. All the trends said connect to pc then go into download. Got into download with the phone not attached to PC, on the first try. Runs stable my downloads, google nav works, did'nt try bluetooth but i'll get to that and other later! Thanks again.:D:)

Yes, I did get Swype working. It was FC'ing on me when I was using R2/3, but I'm using R4 and it's working fine.

There was a Lib I had left in there that was stopping it from working & conflicting with any swype that was downloaded

Is that why I keep getting a weird text from 129 with a bunch of random characters?

Also, is it just me or is 1.6 running a bit sluggish for anyone else?

Edit: Is your JC6 build going to have all of this partitioning stuff included like R5? I have yet to sit down and learn that, so I'm just wondering how much time I will be at my computer tonight.
 
BH_MAN or anyone can help me out? Im stuck and dont know where Im messing up. I formatted my SD with Gparted. Created Fat32 7GB, Ext2 512mb, and Linux-Swap 32mb. I see that my phone memory are being used. Down to 119mb atm(checked it in Setting > SD Card & Phone Memory). Rebooted many times and still at 119mb. Also tried to reset twice. Same thing. Should i ODIN the R5 again? Im running out of option. :(
 
the msg from 129 is part of visual voice mail & I've yet to figure out how to fix it full... But I know that's what causing it now :D..

Yes it will have auto a2sd if you have your SDCard setup for it..


Also, who ever ask what OS I use, I use a Mix of both Linux & windows.. 50/50 most of the time..

Cool thanks for the info. So you're saying that I can still upgrade to your next revision, and that the a2sd is optional?

I have another question for ya. I tried going into Titanium Backup, and it said my phone wasn't rooted. I've used all of your roms from Galaxy to the BH2 stock to all of these 1.6 roms. Why wouldn't I be rooted? Kinda confused there. Thanks man!

Same here... I was rooted with the R4 Rom and now R5 isn't rooted.
 
i have had the same problems with root failing for apps after a while, I did a reboot every time it does that and it is fine, I don't know what causes it to all of the sudden to stop working???!

Um? Odd... What version you using... Just because you're formatting, Doesn't mean it's Correct.. I don't use Gparted so I really can't help much.. I formatted mine with linux..

I used GParted (gparted-live-0.5.2-1) and it worked fine for me, remember people, you only need FAT32 and ext2 only, no need for linux-swap, because the kernel doesn't support it yet!

Im using Gparted Live 0.5.2.5. with R5.

Also does everyone SD card mount at the beginning? Mine does. "Checking internal SD card for errors" it said. Every time after boot.

Master reset and a 2nd reboot fixed it though.

Okay, You have about the same amount of apps installed as I am, yet my RAM still goes down. I still have 131MB, but you still have 151MB. What Gives? I have 3 partitions on my SD card 6.5GB for Fat32, 1GB for ext2 and 128MB for Linux Swap. :(
 
Man. As if everything wasn't fine and dandy with R4, you gonna be making a newer build. Hopefully this build with JC6 will be good enough to where I won't have to update again for a while. Installing all the apps and configuring them all is time consuming. I'll keep checking for an update. At least someone's looking out for the Behold II. This is too great of a phone to have such an old version of Android. 1.6 is awesome.
