Damageless ROM 2.0

Thanks for the tip. I dont check xda all that often.

While waiting for it to download I was reading through the thread, and seems WIFI, market, and certain smaller things are not working. Since I just wiped and flashed today, and I wont be home for a while, I am going to wait until the update.

Major props to Damageless and whoever led to his getting the update in the first place. Very cool.

yeah reading thru ill just wait...

Yeah, just finished reading it as well and yes there are a few minor issues. However, Damageless stated he will have a fully functional rom TODAY. Once he posts the update, I'm going to flash it. To be honest, the more I have played around with flashing, the easier it has gotten for me. As long as I do a nandroid backup of the latest setup I want to keep, I can test out any rom I like and have it set up to my liking within 10 minutes or so. If I don't like the new setup, I just restore my latest nandroid and I'm back to my stable setup in about 5 minutes. Quick, painless, and oh so fun!

Its because as soon as he got it to a working state he released it to the public, hes fine tuning it now but regardless of what little bits arent working its an amazing achievement.

Ok, I've been gone all day, and there's no way I can catch up on all 40+ pages. What are the bugs in this ROM, and how the hell did he get ahold of the full sprint update?

The main thing you need to know is that anything requiring root access doesn't work. Aside from that, protected apps (and I think 2.0+ apps) aren't showing up in the market, Wifi doesn't work, VVM doesn't really work, and there might be one or two other things I forgot about.

Basically don't worry about it until he gets the real deal out there.

He's completely clammed up on the source of the leak.

Huge battery drain.
Sync issues.
Contacts display issues.
Superusers omitted by mistake so no functional root apps yet.
WiFi.
VVM.
Hidden market apps.
Friendstream issues.
A couple others, can't remember.

Darch and Damage are working on it, updates should be out soon, promised today. A lot of juvenile whining going on over there, I just hope he doesn't get PO'd and tell everyone where to go.

I don't blame him for not telling the source of the leak...that's a good way to get someone fired, and in this economy is a VERY bad idea.

I'll wait for the issues to be fixed, I'm in no hurry. I've got a banquet tonight to give away 150 guns, so I certainly don't plan having time to mess with my phone until tomorrow anyway lol

I don't think this one applies. First impressions are that the phone is constantly syncing, which is causing phones to heat up atteries to drain as fast as they charge.

I take it that isn't a universal problem? My battery has been stable since I tried the fix in the leak. I definitely had the "time without a signal = 50%" problem and now its fixed, so I would still recommend giving it a shot.

Not universal, but in large majority, 100% awake time overnight. Manually turning off sync stopped it. Your 50% is on Damage 2.0?

ALL I CAN SAY IS BE VERY CAREFUL FLASHING THIS ROM ONTO YOUR PHONE...

YOU CAN LOSE YOUR PRL/PROFILE/FIRMWARE UPDATE OPTION AND IN DEVICE SELF SERVICE YOU WILL GET A NETWORK NO SOCKET ERROR....

in other words....if that happens to you...you're in deep and you might as well buy a new HTC Hero phone..

I flashed the newest version. No problems so far. I was able to update the prl and profile. I will let you all know if I have any issues. It has been pretty good for me for the last 3 hrs... so far.;)

What, you can't just RUU?

I don't have that error, but currently, I can't restore any Nandroid backup. It keeps telling me to run nandroid-mobile.sh recovery via adb, but I can't. It keeps saying that it can't be found.

I am about to RUU back to 1.56, but I just want to make sure that it is possible.
