Jelly Bean for 10.1?

Hi All,

I know we just got the ICS update(finally :D) but i was wondering if anyone had heard if the 10.1 will eventually get Jelly Bean.

I'm not in a rush as so far ICS is brill i'm just curious.

Specifically my model is GT-P7510 its the 64GB wifi-only.

Hi All,

Perhaps, but there has been no official word from Samsung either way. The hardware is certainly capable, so it's completely possible. The question though is if Samsung wants to continue to support the original Tab or focus updates on the Tab 2 instead.

I've thought about this also. If I were to take a guess, I'd probably guess no.
With v.2 of the tab, and now the new Galaxy Note 10.1 both available, I doubt
Samsung will expend any resources on the 10.1.
And there's the on-going injuncion on sales here.
Too bad really, because this tab is a terrific device. Samsung would do themselves
a world of good by continuing to support it with updates.
I was perfectly happy with HC 3.2; everything just worked fine for me. No complaints
at all.
But now with ICS, it's considerably better, and from what I've/we've read, Jelly Bean is a considerable improvement over ICS.
But if ICS is as far as Samsung goes with this tab, I'd be ok with it. My tab rocks with ICS.
But don't tell Samsung that. Maybe if we can get everyone to bombard Samsung with
a "Give us Jelly Bean" campaign, we just might get it! :D

I would say the answer to that question would be no. It took so long to get ICS that by the time JellyBean would be available for the Tab that the Tab 3 might be out and the original Tab would be forgotten. Hope I'm wrong.

I hope so too, as the Tab is still a great functional device and Jelly Bean would perk it up again with more hardware acceleration and better integration. But I'm quite happy with ICS for now...it's much better on the Tab than ICS was on my Nexus S, probably due to Samsung tweaking it.

I hadn't heard of that model either unless it was released only outside of the States.
I believe you're correct. North America models seem to be limited to 16 & 32 gigabyte models, while EU/international versions have a 64gig version available to them.

Blimey! Many, many of us are still dreaming about the possibility of getting upgraded to ICS!

Thinking about JB feels a little like wondering if my (not yet born) great grandson will be World President!
