Looks too vague to verify its legitimacy. 3 Fans and that random youtube video?
OR MAYBE ITS REAL DUN DUN DUNNN
Anyone know how to verify who originated the page? When I found it the only 2 posts were that video and the blurb about CTIA. That picture is exactly like the one someone on this forum created last week I think it was.
It's the same pic as mine and a few others avitar.
Yes the picture is but the video is not one I've seen around before.![]()
Not likely, for a few reasons. First, the development of both of these phones have been in the works for a very long time. The design, build, physical specs, etc. of both phones are all centered around the hardware and to change any of it at this stage in the game would cause more problems than it would solve. Even if they wanted to compete with the EVO (which, with the Incredible's confirmed specs, they shouldn't have a problem doing anyway) the way you have described, changing the phone to match EVO's specs would push their release date well beyond summer at this point - it would basically take a complete redesign of the phone.
Second, Verizon has a long history of being very tight-lipped about upcoming releases. They will test the fool out of a phone to make sure it works well (most of the time [see Blackberry Storm]). The fact that they have not released or announced yet probably has more to do with the phone being in the last stages of development than anything else. Sprint on the other hand, needs to pull itself out of a rut and an early announcement of a awesome pfone coming in the summer is a great way to do it.
Third, both phones are made by HTC, so I don't think we need to worry about the phones being able to compete with one another. HTC has worked in conjunction with Sprint and Verizon to make sure that the phones both companies release will be competitive. All parties involved have been in the game for long enough to know what makes for a good phone. HTC benefits from making the Incredible as competitive with the EVO as possible because competition is what drives growth. In the end, it makes them more money to have two competitive phones as opposed to one.
Nope not a new video either has been on this forum for a while- though a brighter version than I have seen

Not everyone wants a huge screen. I wouldn't mind it but it isn't that much bigger. I think the built in memory is a better feature since that seems the biggest limitation with Android devices at the moment. More on board storage means more installable apps. Better option in my opinion.
Furthermore, Sprints 4g probably won't be all it's cracked up to be. IIRC @ CTIA they basically confirmed that LTE is a better technology in their own keynote. They said that WiMAX may be moving toward support LTE so ... you do the math.
It all comes down to preference in the end. Different people like different things and it is all subjective. bottom line.
I bet it was someone from here, the picture that Nashdroid made, and touched up is the profile pic, so nothing official there...
The sidebar had "Founder: HTC, Inc" for a little. Not there anymore, but I also doubt it was actual proof.
I would wait for the Incredible. It comes shipped with Android 2.1, which is a big improvement over the older version (1.6 I believe) that the Eris is shipped with. Technically you could root 2.1 onto an Eris, so I guess that's not THAT big of a deal.I went to the Verizon store yesterday to do some research. I'm going to be a first time smart phone user, but prefer touch screen phones. My girlfriend has the blackberry Storm, and I was considering the Storm 2, until I looked at HTC's phones. I have wanted the Eris for the longest time, but knowing the Incredible is coming soon, I may want to wait. I asked the Verizon worker when the Incredible was due in stores, and he said "we get emails when shipments are coming in, and once those shipments come on, it takes us 15 days to train with them. We haven't gotten any emails yet, so it's at least 15 days away."
With that said, should I go ahead and just get the Eris, or wait the minimum 2+ weeks for the Incredible? I really want the larger screen because I have large hands, even though I can text on the Eris. Any suggestions?

The other factors are that the Eris is generally much less powerful all around, has a smaller screen, and just doesn't look as sexy. I'd say wait, man. I know how you feel-- I've got an upgrade ready and it's so tempting to just say "**** it" and go with the Droid, but I can wait. The buyer's remorse would be TERRIBLE once the Incredible actually comes out. Lol
