Any1 on voda had the Jellybean update yet? or have an idea when we will get it?, can i presume that the manual search for updates will find it if its there?

Samsung is expected to say a word about it at the end of the event in Berlin. It's too soon to have it available. It may come later on today or in the next following days.

Whoa there!

There should be an announcement about Jelly Bean on the S3 at the IFA conference in Berlin at about 6pm UK time.

Not sure what exactly when JB will be released after that.

However one thing is clear that carriers such as Vodafone will not release it to their customers until they have done whatever tweaking they need to do. That will add a further delay!

Probably talking a couple of months AT THE VERY LEAST for jelly bean on a Vodafone branded handset.

And thats if JB is actually released today for the S3

can i bypass the voda version for the samsung version to get it sooner its not like i want anything voda has to offer, id rather keep it official tho so it will auto update via kies..?

It won't update via Kies if you flash an unbranded ROM, but you can keep it updated using Odin.

Or you could just flash an unbranded one until the voda update is available, then flash the voda update and youll be able to update via Kies again.

What is so urgent that you have to have it now?

De-branding may cause warranty claims (if you cant get it back onto vodafone official android) to be rejected.

I was very tempted to flash mine to the Samsung unbranded software when Vodafone failed to push out the brightness slider update but then I seen the update on my mates S3 and realised it wasn't worth the hassle.

Sometimes its best just to wait because in reality your not missing out on much as your phone can still do everything you need it to right now, if it couldn't you wouldn't have bought it !

Im not in a big rush to get it just dont like having second best lol, and i thought maybe the samsung version wouldnt affect the warranty like a rooted version as it would still technically be offical by samsung just debranded and not full of vodafones crap apps that no one ever uses..
