I just got my Jelly Bean official updatethread

Well even if it was 29th that it was released (today), since it's done in batches, the chance of any one of us actually getting it on release day are minuscule
 
I got mine this morning. Amazing since my carrier always seems last with these updates. This deduce must be a priority for them. :D

Does your Android Version (Settings\About Device) now say 4.1?

You sure it was Jelly Bean?

There's nothing on the internet anywhere about any release yet, so you must be the very first to get it if it is! :p

Some people have had updates today that weren't jelly bean.
 
there is nothing that's have seen that says we are getting jelly bean today. I haven't even seen any rumors of when we will get it

Samsung's IFA 2012 event doesn't happen for another 2 hours and 26 minutes yet. They'll be announcing the Galaxy Note 2 and most likely mentioning Jelly Bean at the event.

Everyone seems to think they're going to be releasing the jelly bean update as some arbitrary time throughout the day for some reason, but they're most likely going to mention it at the event.
 
Menu -> Settings -> About Device -> Software update

Could be available any time or pushed to your phone. It's easier to check for it rather than wait.
 
yeah I'm checking the software updates in settings every couple of hours. I heard its coming out after they unveil the Note 2. Can't wait for the jb update :D
 
The unpacked event for the Note 2 is tonight. It's here that it's expected that Samsung will announce the update schedule. It doesn't mean that JB is being pushed today.

The rumor mill had it made out that the updates are starting today. This was never confirmed by Samsung, so rumors are just rumors. However, if you wish to watch the unpacked event, it starts on the following timezones:

The Galaxy Note 2 unveiling will begin on Wednesday August 29th at the following times:

Los Angeles: 10:00am PST (GMT-8)
Denver: 11:00am MST (GMT-7)
Chicago: 12:00pm CST (GMT-6)
New York: 1:00pm EST (GMT-5)
London/England: 6:00pm (GMT)
Berlin/Western Europe: 7:00pm (GMT+1)
Philippines/Hong Kong/Malaysia: 2:ooam August 30th (GMT+8)

So far they've only said "very soon" with regards to the jb update!

You are correct. It wasn't jb. T mobile had an update but still 4.04. I was a bit shocked when I saw the update. I was very excited at first because t mobile is pretty putzy with their updates.
 
I hope the US update isn't delayed because Samsung is prioritizing updating their other phones due to the Apple lawsuit fiasco.
