My new plan..........get a DROID sometime this week. Wait and hopefully find out the HTC Incredible is released soon after. Return the DROID within 30 days. Get the HTC Incredible, problem solved, win win situation, leave happy.

I have a question though, will i be charged like double for the data plan? like $30 for the DROID and then when i return it i have to pay $30 again for the HTC Incredible data?

Your plan is outside of your phone purchase, so even if you switch to a different phone, you're still gonna be using the same purchased plan. So you shouldn't be charged anything extra as far as your plan goes.

Ruben, I am not about to flame the guy - it's just that his info is not new, it's a bit on the vague side, and he doesn't list his sources. Yes, he covered his bases on the timeframe - I mean, from all accounts, that week-long window fits just about everyone's else's sources timeframe quite nicely. NKT - whom I consider to be the best source in here - had predicted April 17th weeks ago. The phone can therefore land anywhere in the vicinity of that date and Tyler will smell like a rose. It's not news to us. I just think that credit should go where credit is due and if it IS released in that timeframe, I think most of us will look back at NKT's account. I hope the kid's sources are right though. I really do! It gives us yet another hope for mid-April! Now had Tyler's sources given him a definitive set-in-stone release date, THAT would be amazing for everyone in here! I think it's very safe to say that all of us in here have heard multiple release dates ad nauseam, with "mid April" being at the top of the list, currently.

Tyler's input has always been good, and I appreciate what he has to say. We're all on the same side here - we all want the same thing. It's not a competition to see who can name the release "window." The competition should be who can name the exact release date! :) ;)

The 4/17 date was initially posted by anonimac here:

Okay sounds good.

So i shouldn't be charged an extra $30 when returning the DROID for the Incredible and starting up the Data on the Incredible.

I'll clarify with a VZW rep of course when i actually do it.

Im praying the bloody phone comes soon, and i would like an announcement of some kind.

you will however have to pay the $35 restocking fee:(

damn, thats freaking lame..........well, nothing good comes free :p

I sent an e-mail nagging Verizon Wireless about release dates. Went along the lines of saying like "Can you tell me the release dates so i can sign with VZW, i heard about the HTC EVO on Sprint and it has 4G. If i don't hear any announcements for the Nexus One or HTC Incredible i guess i'll just sign with Sprint instead of you guys. Please let me know a release date so i can make my decision to sign with VZW."

Hopefully i'll get something.

NKT - whom I consider to be the best source in here - had predicted April 17th weeks ago.

EDIT: grokr pointed out to me that kcoan should be the one to get the credit of the April 17th date. Much thanks! :) NKT had said mid-April, just not an exact date.

P.S. I have to correct my initial post this way because my Probation Officer doesn't allow me to go pack and edit my own posts! :(

This may be a dumb question and certainly off topic so sorry but you guys are the best! So here goes...
I know that vzw does not allow for streaming video over their network(understandaly so) but question is if the incredible will support flash would it be possible to strem video over wifi to the phone? Say if you could stream netflix on to the phone? That now would be sweet!?

Netflix uses Silverlight, not flash, which is supported by Microsoft, WM7 phones WILL have Silverlight however.

While perusing the freshly-minted ***Unofficial Motorola Shadow*** thread a bit ago, I couldn't help but notice that there's a handful of regulars who have been posting here for a while, but who are now pausing to consider holding out a little while longer to see if and when the Shadow makes its way onto VZW, as is widely assumed to be the case. It's inevitable that with every passing day without an official release date announced for the Incredible, more and more people will do the same thing. They'll consider other options that are coming up soon. It's the "new-ship-on-the-horizon" syndrome. Verizon and HTC really need to either sh*t or get off the pot. Today's fiercely competitive wireless market waits for no one!

100% agree with you. I used to check this thread every hour I was awake, but after the CTIA fizzle, I have been spending most of my time researching the Evo and reading their threads. In fact, I put my future features in their thread, since there was little interest here. Bottom line, this has lost my interest and I am focusing my efforts on something that is actually incredible, tangible and scheduled for a release. I can't pin my hopes on a mere possibility/maybe/rumor/"a friend of a friend says.." phone.

Basically, the Evo crushes the Incredible and the Shadow probably will too. (insert flaming here).

I really don't mean to bash you folks, whom I really like reading, but just wanted to confirm exactly what MM is saying. VZ dropped the ball.

I could have sworn it was nkt that initially stated the 17th I could be wrong but dont forget that I thought the 6th or 7th of April

Google chrome is just your web browser. You still have the silverlight plugin installed as well. It just happens to run on multiple browsers.

Ok so forget about netflix but what about streaming video in general over wifi on phone? If the incredible supports flash 10.1 will that allow video streaming?

I am new to the forums I usually just read but I guess you guys like info even if its any info. My coworker now is a manager for Verizon and had no info until now about the incredible. First its not going to be the incredible. He documents state it as an HTC IMAGIO weird and he knows there is already an IMAGIO out already for Verizon anyway the specs he could tell me is that it has 8mp camera. But here is why I know it will be incredible if not caled that at release is that it has a 2.6 GHZ processor. WHAT THE !!!!!. No release date all he could say that he was being trained next week. So its my quess it will release in approximately 2 weeks.

Take for what its worth but remember when it comes out this post . Key word 2.6 ghz processor WOW. How you like Verizon now.

i think you only have to pay the restocking fee if you actualy try to trade the phone for another..when i bought my omnia 2 i tried to exchange it for a droid 2 weeks later and they tried to charge me the restocking fee..so i left and i came bak another day and just said i wasnt satisfied with the phone and the lag issues and they jus gave me my full refund with out a restock fee.. i dont know though thats just my experience with it.
