We are both connected to a Linksys E4200 Router on the 2.4 Ghz. Network

I had my phone for 1 month and it never disconnected

Today I bought her a white S3 and updated immediately to the stock 4.0.4 (same OS I am using too)

Her phone though keeps disconnecting intermittently I don't know why

any suggestions please?

You do realise that the version 4.0.4 covers 3-4 versions right?

Depending on your location you may need to try updating again.

The UK is on baseband LH1 / build BLG8

Try a factory reset and check for updates. I'm assuming the connection works as it should (Web access etc) apart from the drop outs?

yes man it works fine other than droping out

Now I have restarted her phone and the constant dropping out has stopped for now. I will report back how it goes

It baffles me why would one buy a brand new phone, then update it to the latest OS (OTA) then have to do a factory reset, i hope that is not the case here

Same reason a cold reboot of a pc works when a restart doesn't, usually residual ram info/cahe
