Phone runs warmer and battery drains faster after...

Two days ago I got an 86MB update on Rogers which was supposed to have some fixes and small changes in camera and other things. Before the update I had absolutely no complaints about my phone. Now the battery drains faster and the phone heats up even when browsing on wifi. Is there a way to go back and remove the latest update?

Using wifi consume energy and you phone will get warmer and drain more battery, that why you don't want wifi on unless you are using it.

Actually, WIFI is much more efficient than 3G/4G. It is all a function of your proximity to the source.

BTW, the only time I see my Verizon Galaxy S3 'heat up' is when GPS is active.

Before the update the phone stayed cool during regular browsing on wifi and obviously the heat is wasted energy from the battery so that's why it drains faster. I guess Ill have to wait for Jelly Bean and hope that it won't be happening then unless there is a way to restore it .

Try a factory reset. Sometimes after taking an update, a factory reset needs to be done to clear out settings and get everything set up correctly. Backup important contacts (if they're not automatically synced) and important apps/messages before doing so.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't think it would help but did it anyways and it looks like the problem is solved. I'm browsing and streaming a podcast and the heat is barely noticeable just like it was before the update. Thanks again.
