Help Anyone using Notifier Pro Plus? Boy do I have some questions....

Moving from an iPhone to the Galaxy S3 the one thing I really miss is push notifications to the home/lock screen whenever an email, chat, or breaking news message arrives.

I am hoping Jellybean fixes that.

In the meantime, the hot program to bring notifications to your screen seems to be Notifier Pro Plus.

For the most part, it works well and is highly customizable. It does come with its share of problems however, and I am hoping anybody else using this program can assist me in fixing them....

1. First, in order run this software, you need to open up Accessibility Services. That's fine and dandy, but the downside is that it turns on a voice helper for the blind that announces "The folder is open" "The folder is closed" every time you open a folder.

That's a huge downside.

2. It seems to bump heads with notifications coming from other programs. For instance, I have Notifier Pro Plus programmed to notify me when new mail arrives. The problem is that I get multiple sound alerts, which is making me guess that it may be bumping heads with the system alert.

For instance, I have the AOL ringtone "You Have Mail" set up specifically with my mail program through Notifier Pro Plus. However, every time one piece of mail arrives, I get the "You Have Mail" soundbyte playing two or three times. Have no idea why it is doing that.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

dont see why people care about notifications on your lockscreen.. i mean u can get lockscreen themes that display the number of miss calls or numbers of text.
but ether why. this is why android has the notification slide down. u can slide it down when its on the lock screen to.

streetkilln,

If you were coming off the iPhone, you would care. If you weren't you might not know better.

The iPhone had a fantastic notification system. You would get large notifications on your screens that you could dismiss.

On Android, the notifications are tiny. They exist in that small bar at the top of the phone and hide behind the locked screen. Once your phone vibrates and you unlock your phone, most of the time those notifications are gone.

Now, I am new to Android. Perhaps there is a setting to elongate those alerts. Perhaps there is a setting to make those alerts more prominent.

....and I shouldn't have to unlock my phone to see those alerts.

Really, when you get right down to it, it's a personal preference thing. I obviously care about it more than you do, but I want a good working option to be there.

it is neat that it appears on the lockscreen. but trust me there are ways to do it on an android. theres many apps to discover also try rooting your phone.

not sure why your notifications are gone when you unlock it.
mines dont go away until i clear the notifications. from the slide down menu.

Streetkilln,

Appreciate the help.

My phone is rooted. I have access to anything.

I just don't see text notifications on my lock screen. Perhaps I have something set up wrong?

Is there a way to delay those notifications so they stay on screen long enough for me to take the phone out of my pocket?

If you have some methods you would like to share I would be highly appreciative.

tell me what do you want to show on the lockscreen. ill give you apps that have options.

I would like all my email, chat, breaking news story alerts pushed to the lock screen in a larger text bubble that can clearly be read.

Basically, anything that pushes alert information I want on the lock screen.

Appreciate your help.

email pop up notifications
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blntsoft.emailpopup&hl=en

sms/mms pop up notifications
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spiderfly.iserm.popupnotifications&hl=en

or just use another text messaging app like hancent or go sms

facebook pop up notifications
