Help Noobie Question #1 Delete a Gallery

Okay, ladies and gents....

Just picked up my new S3 from Costco yesterday....had a Droid x the past two years.

Went to my photo galleries and found a gallery I called "blog pics" in it are pix I REALLY don't want:smokingsomb:

Looked in the online owners manual.

Played with the phone.

Still cannot figure out how to delete an entire gallery. I gotta be over thinking this....

Help!

Steve

If you go to gallery and click on "setting" button (lower left), then "select album", click on the album then you should see the wastebin icon on the top, click that and it should delete the album

Instructions
1
Open your Android phone's application list and then tap "Settings."

2
Tap "Accounts & Sync" and then tap your Google account.

3
Tap the box next to "Picasa Web Albums" to deselect the sync feature. The system automatically saves the operation. Tap "Back" twice or "Home" to return to the home screen.

4
Open your Android photo gallery. The Blogger photo galleries should now be gone.

Tried this myself earlier on today, when I go into my google account through accounts & sync there's no check boxes to disable the function. Tapping it only syncs it :(

Do not tap the green sync symbol. Tap the words, "my userid"@google.com" e.g., that should bring up a menu with lots of syncing options. Un-tick whatever you do not want there.

That's what I'm doing, there's no tick boxes on that screen.

erm.. cant help you then..

If it's just the stock gallery app and there is a folder you have of pics ie your blogger folder, just long press it and it will get a cyan outline, then tap on the trash can icon up top.

Can't do that either, it's photos from Picasa courtesy of Google+
Deleting the pictures from G+ is the only long term solution I've found, clearing data from the gallery app worked but only until my phone syncs again.

It's not a massive issue but it's beginning to annoy me now, ha!

Usually it's a simple thing I just need to figure out, having sync disabled removes the check boxes. Bit daft that but sorted now at last!

Cheers for the advice people :)

So instant upload on Google + isn't enabled (or any other site that may use a similar function) you've disabled any relevant check boxes in the accounts & sync settings and cleared The gallery's cache?

Unchecking the sync picasa web albums does not work.

Unchecking sync Google photos does not work.

Long pressing and trying to delete the album does not work. (no trash can only share options)

I even went into my google account and blog on my computer and deleted every.single.picture and they are STILL there. They said it can take 24 hours or something but that was a week ago)

You can select which albums to view (view by content in device) and that works until you close the gallery and open it again. This goes for all the albums listed on laptops in my home that are on the same wifi. THOSE albums are empty (because I am currently not sharing them but sometimes I do but only if I need something, then I turn it off, otherwise anyone who visits and is using my wifi can see them as well).

I just want to see the albums on my phone, is it THAT hard Samsung???

Perhaps I need to go find an app to replace the stock gallery....

HALLELUJAH!! I wish I had tried this after unchecking picasa and google photos before deleting them on my account.

It still shows 2 empty albums from 2 other computers on the same wifi though...
