Changing Dock items WITHOUT a Luancher???

Ok, people have been very helpful in explaining that I could use a new dialer and then just use something like Apex or Go launcher that would allow to change the stuff up, replace, etc...However, it changes simply too much so I'm looking for a very basic item that would allow me to swap out dock items and/or the amount on the homescreen. Does this exist? I thought about rooting my phone (not really sure what this means, ha ha) but there is one program I'd like that does require it to be rooted. Also if it was rooted, would it allow me to do it without having a separate app?

Thanks!

Zeam is a very, very basic launcher. It will give you 7 screens and customizable dock. It's super light and super fast. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles the other launchers do, very trimmed down. I keep going back to it for the dock and simplicity. Check it out, you may like it.

You don't need a launcher if all you want is to change dock items. For a Samsung phone you usually just long press on an app on the dock and just drag it out of there, then drag another fron your homescreen into the dock to replace.

Thanks, I'll give it a look.

If you hold down an app, it pulls the trash screen. If you hold down a dock icon, it does nothing.I'm just looking for minor changes so I would have loved for this to have worked

What phone do you have and what Android version? It differs. For example, on my Galaxy S, to change the dock icons on the default touchwiz launcher by Samsung, I have to go to the app drawer, press menu>edit before I can drag stuff out of and into the dock. I remember the SIII having just to go into the app drawer and long pressing on an icon to enter edit mode.

Here's a video of a guy changing the dock icons on the stock Galaxy SIII interface.

I just installed it and it is nice, small & lightweight. I like it! :smokingsomb:

Thanks! This did it. Open Applications>menu>edit

Thanks again!
