Which Weather App?

Because of the drought and the fact that I am a farmer I have 3+ paid versions of weather apps on my RAZR.
Weather Channel.com, Weather Bug, and Accuweather.
Curious thing is they are often at odds.
Accuweather is more optimistic about rain (which mostly never comes). WC.COM is pessimistic, weather bug is in between.
Let me note that predicting rain is a tough game. I have had 2.5 inches of rain while farms from 2 to 6 miles from me got nothing.
What experiences have you had? Which is best?
 
I'd think, try to find out which ones have the closest weather stations to you. Check their websites out and look for your location. They usually indicate what weather station they are connecting to.
 
I live in the far south west of the UK which means we get everything the Atlantic throws at us and, here at least, the best weather forecast is to look out of the window! You think I jest? Several of the forecasts get fairly accurate with less than 12 hours to go but that's about it. The UK met Office has admitted that they use the same computer models for weather forecasting as they do for so-called climate change/global warming/global cooling/scam-to-relieve-us-of-money .... go figure!

I just had to switch weather apps that i use in Japan because Weather News went through a update which changed the UI from scratch.
It became a weather social networking app and I hate it!!!!

I love the earthquake alerts along with the sat/map ..it's awesome !


I deleted Accuweather after getting this. It has everything and then some more.

Yes the hour weather clock is fantastic .

PS: Takes a little while to figure it out but once you do you won't regret getting it. Customer service is great and they take suggestions and always updating. Check out their forum.
 
WeatherBug Elite has a new version out with a new feature called My Storm Tracker. Also, if you are a WeatherBug fan then HD Widgets is definitely worth looking at, as WeatherBug is one of three weather source choices, along with AccuWeather, and Weather Underground.)

Great.... Just what I need, another weather app. :) I'll watch to see how the forecasted lows match my actual lows.

LOL-do tell when you get some comparisons.
I was bummed when there was no free version of eWeather-would have never thought to look for a free trial-appreciate that:)
 
Just having the temperature in the status bar big enough to see sold me on eWeather. The moon phase was a bonus.

The NOAA app needs to open to the last place it was. Waiting for a location fix and then having to tap on it is unacceptable.

I think the weather can be tricky. It can depends your location and the location of the station.

In my area, it seems most weather comes from either the downtown area or from the airport area, which is in the suburbs. I live sorta in between both!
 
Oh boy...
I am a bit hard core, so...

Weather Geek Pro (5 bucks, I think) models
Weather Bug elite (2 bucks) local general forecast
Raindar (free) A quick no frills animated radar. Gets the most use due to radar smoothing
Pykl3 Radar (10 bucks) Full featured radar. There is seriously a LOT of stuff to it. Not smoothed radar images. Will use this when I need alert boxes (Weather bug offers this too in the paid version) and better details like hook echo's outflow boundarys and other stuff

Quick weather (free) quick links to the NWS, weather underground for fronts and other data.

Twitter (tweetcaster) and following select people for my area.

Sundroid (not really weather related) but will give sunset and sunrise and moon data along with other planetary data. I think it cost 3bucks.

Also a link to the NWS storm prediction center.
 
I usually find the best weather apps, are the ones that can tell me the weather forecast for "Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia". So many of them seem to be US only, which makes them rather useless to me.
 
i've tried animated weather on my nexus7 and it looks pretty nice and accurate too. the animations were the icing on the cake.
