I must agree, I feel like I have been hearing "I heard from XY or Z that in TWO WEEKS!! blah blah..." since November of 2009...

To be honest, I am just relieved I haven't read anything about the "testman" site in a few days...

Ditto! (Don't you also find it "incredible" that so many people have buddies, insiders, moles and invisible spy cams at Verizon but nothing ever comes out of it but more rumors?) BTW, I love this forum regardless since I have learned more stuff here than anywhere else.

I feel like we've been hearing complaining about hearing about release dates since nov. 2009 forever.

So let's say someone hears something that they've heard. If you don't believe it, that's fine, but eventually someone is gonna hear the truth, and they won't wanna post it because they didn't steal the phone tear it apart and send us the pieces in the mail because they don't want to hear from the people here who complain about them posting without a smoking gun piece of evidence.


Edit: Summarizing - If you don't believe it fine, but don't scare what could be legitimate posters away, because of something you don't 100% believe in.

The difference is you guys are grasping at any straws you can find. I'm not looking for a smoking gun, but I'm definitely not looking for a first time poster with an "insider at the local VZW store" to worship.

It's a matter of white noise / crying wolf. That's why nobody gets giddy when somebody posts another unsubstantiated rumor. There are few people on here who could get me excited by posting that they have received inside information about the release date. In fact, right now, only NKT comes to mind.

If every day I say, "tomorrow's the day!" then one day I'll be right. But what good does that do anybody?

Please keep posting your info. I think he's cautioning more against everybody getting too excited about it again. Once we get multiple reports like yours in, all confirming the same info, we'll be good to go. Until then it's been a weekly cycle: The week starts with some speculation, mid-week someone has a source saying big things are coming at the end of the week, the end of the week shows up with nothing new. Repeat.

Yours could very well be the start of the real thing, so hopefully we'll hear more people with the same info soon. Otherwise, we'll start it again next week!

Agree. Get some people to confirm the information and I'll look forward to the phone soon. But the truth is that you're the umpteenth person to say its coming out in 2 weeks and you currently have no more credibility than any of them.

But I do hope that your source is correct.

I've sort of wondered about this for a while now. The Incredible = Nexus One stories are often shot down pretty vehemently. It always seemed to me that the Incredible has always tweaked out Nexus One with a new shell.

What if there are two versions? Say the Google Nexus One were the original with CDMA and Verizon's version was a Nexus One Signature Edition (VZW Exclusive!!!1! HOLY S$#&). Google gets it's standardized product and Verizon gets something special. Would the odds be totally against that?

It certainly could explain some of the confusion about Verizon's Nexus One's in store availability. There was also the Sense UI confusion a while back.

So let's shoot it down one more time.

Two different FCC filings. Check.
8MP camera vs. 5MP camera. Check.
SenseUI on Incredible, not on N1. Check.
MoviNAND vs. not so much. Check.
Testers who've seen each. Check.

Incredible = Nexus One. FAIL

Relax chief. I didn't say I don't believe them each time, it just seems "two weeks" is the consensus each time...

But, the testman thing seems worthless and spoken of ad nauseum

Seriously, do you guys want him to draw a picture or something for proof? I'd rather see a post like IncrediblyAnnoying's that is seemingly trying to provide some information for the forum than the posts from people with a couple of dozen to their name whose main contribution to this point are his/her voiced skepticism.

I'm just saying you attract more flies with honey, and the more flies we can get, the better chance we have of one of them turning out to be INCREDIBLE. If you were someone who had real information which of the following would you be more likely to dole out information to.

1)Bullshit, until you give me some pictures, you don't have it.

or

2)Cool man, any way you could get some pictures.

Umm. Did you read my post? Or did I fail to get my point across (very possible)?

I'm trying to say that both would exist as different flavors of Nexus One. Google selling one and Verizon the other.

Just a random thought. No reason to be so harsh.
 
Yesterday I had to call Verizon about an unrelated matter. The rep said "hey, while we're at it, I see you're eligible for a new phone. Are you interested?" Sure, I said, but I want a phone with Android 2.1, Sense UI, lots of memory...I don't want the Droid or the Eris. I want the ADR6300. He said he'd never heard of it and I said, check your inventory database. (As you may recall, someone here said they'd talked to a VW rep who said they found it in their DB.) This guy said "I don't see it. Is it something new? What can you tell me?" So I said, go online to the Android Forums and navigate to the HTC Incredible thread. Or search for it on Google. There you will find the Age-Old Font of Incredible Knowledge, passed down from generation to degeneration, cleverly disguised as a buncha kibitzers. :D

You gotta separate the chaff from the wheat, and if you're not willing to put in the work, you don't deserve the reward. Gotta have patience and be willing to follow a couple dead ends if you wanna be the first to know.
