Email and Message Notification question

Just got S3 LOVE it. I get the notification that i have email or text open given app and read... go back to home screen and it still shows there are unread messages. Any ideas on whats up?

pull out the battery see if that fixes is

Been posted so many times

Delete the shortcut nd re-add it I think is the usual fix but if you search you'll find plenty of info.

Uncheck 'Do not keep processes' under Dev options.

Uncheck 'Do not keep processes' under Dev options.

Only problem with that (last time I checked a few weeks ago) us the setting isn't kept upon reboot as with some other dev settings.

Only option that works so far is to pull battery, but that can not be the real fix
