so...what are you gonna do?

US? You mean worldwide? Note 2? Negative. Making it the "best" would also include sales. You wont see 20 million plus sales on the Note 2. Now The GS4 will likely become the "next best" device tech wise and sales wise.

I say the GS3 is the best in the U.S. and not worldwide because the Galaxy Note 2 is out internationality. This Galaxy Note 2 is a beast!

I'm actually glad Fuzzy went with the GNex. Looks like he did research and is happy with his new phone. I see nothing wrong with that at all.

Of course the only person who really has to be happy with the idea is Fuzzy but I honestly don't get it.

He's paying $5 more a month for capped at 2G data instead of unlimited. A year and a half of that eats up 1/2 of the $200 he saved on the phone.

I haven't seen anything that says that anyone who gets a Metro S3 won't be able to still use their phones fully even in 2015 when the merge is finished. Whatever the new TPCS management does with Metros plans, it doesn't make any sense for them to raise it past the point where they aren't still the cheapest/best non-contract plan. They know a lot of their customers are going to go where it's cheapest and best even if that's not TPCS. I just don't see them making any dramatic upward swings in the plan pricing.

Seems to me if you're happy with Metro now and were going to get a S3, I haven't heard any reason not to. (If I've read correctly and what I read here was correct, the worst case scenario is that in 2-3 years a Metro S3 owner might have to have it unlocked.)

But, I'm not the one that has to be happy with the decision either... :p

Metro for life here why give up my plan like I said many times before living in Florida is a no brainer metro has been excellent to me I never miss calls my text come in and out out without any issues will get the s3 and upgrade in 2 years I'm fine with that to each their own I respect everyone's opini

I buying the Metro SG3. I use about 10 megs of data a day surfing at work. Any high use of data is done at home. Apps or whatever. Using wifi for high data usage I can drop down to the $40 plan from the $60 plan. That'll save me $240 per year from what I'm paying now. The Lynksys wireless router cost $50.00 from Newegg.:smokingsomb:

I will be paying more a month. BUT, the 4G in my area will be 3-4x as fast. Remember though this is in MY area. I dont live in places that get 10mb down. I live on the edge of the 4G line so I get the bare min. So that little extra is worth WAY more for the return im getting for data speeds and the much larger coverage. (And I dont use my phone like other people. I dont stream movies, music or radio. I make calls, text and surf the web. Im a developer. Well, a wanna be. lol. I make themes, tweak ROMs and kernels. That's my thing. :D

As far as I know you WILL be able to use your metro phone in 2015. Remember this is THREE YEARS from now. My Gnex will be long gone and i will have had 2-3 more phones by then. It's not a big deal right now. lol

Also, Tmobile could care less about Metros customers honestly. They wanted the spectrum. Remember even if they loose HALF of metros customers thats only 4Mil compared to the 24mil they have or whatever the number is. So, what has been said is that metro pcs will be GONE in 2015 thus people will either be forced to switch to a Tmobile plan or just go elsewhere. At that point all the metro plans will be gone. now, T mobile MIGHT adjust their BYOD and prepaid plans to subsidize this but thats up to them, they dont HAVE TO, remember that.

And lastly, I've never been fully sold on the S3. Battling that alleged price tag changed my mind every day. just because I dont say those things on here doesn't mean they aren't happening. I've never been sold on all the shit Samsung added and yada yada yada. Honestly, someone mentioned the other day that they weren't getting the S3 because they have been using the Gnex for a while now. I completely forgot about the Gnex. I mean in a world full of hundreds of bad ass smart phones, who would think that would happens. lol. But I dont really keep up with the newest and best anyways. So, that got my wheels turning. I checked the price on Google Play and as soon as I saw that price I was pretty much sold.

Soooooooo, long story short. If I dont like Tmobile. Ill leave. No contract remember. And then I can go to straight talk, Simple, Att......wait no I think I owe ATT some money. lol You get the point. So, I could have just gone to Straight Talk and paid cheaper than what Im paying now and get the same stuff. Why didn't I? Thats a whole different topic.

I've weighed ALL my options. Plan, phone, COVERAGE. I've been with Metro for almost 10 years so this wasn't easy but it was time for a change. I want a newer phone but I dont want the S3. No choice but to venture out. Nothing wrong with that. :D

I'll see y'all in 2015 :p

Good question.

I,m going to chill with the Motion I just got and see what happens.

Awaiting S3 Release but better to hold off on that in light of what's being said.

Would be bad if Metro Plans disappear just as they finallyt have 2 great phones- Motion and S3 and 4 G is very good in South Fl.

Metro's Plans are still best deal-hope METRO expands instead of disappears.....

If we really have until 2015- then an S3 purchased now is still a good option IMO.

The real question is will we still have these truly UNLIMITED Plans in 2015?

Will there still be a Metro PCS brand in 2015 ?

Will Metro R@D and improvement of it's Network and finally

BETTER PHONES-starting with Motion and S3-will this trend continue or slow down now that Merger announced?

METRO PCS Dealers-there are many in Florida -will these disappear along with the Brand and the great Plans ?

Hopefully not.

Metro is/was expanding and attracting new customers and probably forcing other companies to come up wiyh cheaper Plans-without the competition-will everything just rise in price and no one offer a truly Unlimited Plan?

I hope there is continuing competition for no cap Unlimited Plans...

The rumor mills are already churning for the next nexus coming very soon. I would've waited a little longer if you could.

Evidence is leading to multiple nexus devices from different manufacturers. If that's true that would be huge.

Refreshed hardware and multiple manufacturers to choose from

Ahhh, now I understand better. I have to agree with you on the most important points. Obviously, a needed by you stronger TM signal is an important plus, as it knowing you'll constantly be below the 2G data cap and don't stream (Straight Talk).

I respectively Don't Agree with T-PCS not caring about the income stream from Metro customers. I do think the majors do keep in the back of their minds the past exodus from Sprint for poor customer service and how long it took them to recoup if they HAVE yet to recoup fully. I think I've read there is already a pretty steady stream from contract to no contract. 18 months ago, Verizon gave me $400 cash plus a highly subsidized Droid X to re-up for 2 years. This was also about the time Clark Howard, the consumerist, said that each new contract customers cost each major about $400 in advertising/marketing to get signed (interestingly coincidental to what they paid me). Not to mention how rabid mobile phone users bad memory memories are. Once you lose them, no matter What You Do you may never see them again.

Money is money and I doubt whoever is making the deposits of Metros customer plan money wants to see it dry up. Frankly I see the exodus from contracts for the majors to get a lot worse before it gets any better for them. Especially for the multi-phones families who finally wake up to what they are spending on contract for the highest zoot phones and highest strata data plans.

Not to mention if you got a Nexus for $300, I think you did pretty well there.

I chatted with someone on the Metro site. Lee I think it was. He/she said the middle of the month is when the stores would "probably" be getting the GS3.

Contracts are going to disappear before long. I really do believe that. There are so many "Bring your own device" companies popping up all over the place that are using the existing ATT and Tmob towers and are really cheap. They keep prices cheap because they dont own the towers. So soon enough people will "try" a no contract plan out and realize they've wasted their money for years.

I'm thinking about testing out several "bring your own device" networks before settling on one. I mean 6 months and I could have tried out 6 different providers. lol. I hear pros and cons from all but honestly being that EVERY area's coverage is obviously different, the only way to know is try it out. If you dont like it your only out what you paid for that month and you can walk away. So that's my plan at least. Being that straight talk is the most accessible for me, Ill prolly start there and work my way out. Find one that worked the best and ride it out until I get tired of it. :D

I disagree. For me, I want the best there is, and the prepaid options just don't have the top of the line devices. They're typically overpriced devices for generally lackluster service. ( I know this is different depending on region)

I agree that we in the US do things completely wrong when you look at our brethren across the ocean, but I don't see contracts going away anytime soon. People are locked into them, and I don't see that changing

Im sure there likely not to FULLY go away but I think the numbers will greatly decrease. The market is about competition and when more and more pre paid and BYOD companies pop up it creates competition. They'll start loosing customers or plans prices will greatly drop to try and compete. At least thats why I think :p

Thats different. ;)

I do see a large business opportunity for the pre-paid carriers in a down economy. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of pre-paid users increased. I just dont expect prepaid to be the norm anytime soon.

The main reason I don't want to go prepaid is that according to all the major players own coverage maps metro's signal is the strongest at my house. At work they're all about the same, good, considering my place of business is about seven miles outside Lakeland Florida. I can do fine with the $40 per month plan so I don't have the incentive to change.
