How do I turn on the 4g LTE? (Sprint)

I am in KC but I still only have 3G but I have read that the 4G LTE should be available in my area. Is there some update I need?

Menu... Settings... Wireless.... More settings... Mobile network... Cdma/LTE

4G here in Houston since Saturday... But she is sketchy... Lots or dead spots. Still think wifi blows 4G away.

I talked to a Sprint customer service representative and there is no additional option, as in Galaxy S2, to turn on 4G LTE. As long as your Mobile data option is turned on (basically you have 3G), when you are in an area where 4G LTE is available, the phone will automatically switch to that service.

Now, remember that 4G LTE is not the same as 4G. So, if there is just 4G (WiMAX) available in your area, which in most places is, you will not be able to access that service. They use different technologies and the new Samsung Galaxy S3 supports only 4G LTE. So, if you are like me that doesn't live in a big city, you are pretty much screwed... :(

Or if you're a Sprint customer west of the Mississippi you're screwed lol. I think the only way to see 4G LTE in Portland is by switching to AT&T or Verizon.
