Serious question though:

I never was sure how egg_plant (or whatever his name is) was so sure that the "on order" meant they were "in the warehouse" and from NKT's posts about it, it looked like his warehouse log had nothing.

Was there ever any clarification as to how we knew what "On Order" meant?


Also guys, this thread is 430 pages, posting about keeping it on topic when it is a slow news day isn't going to do anything but create 5-10 more pages of back and forth banter (like it has) like it has every other time someone said that.

Right or wrong, it has happened over and over.

Steven adds TONS to this forum - maybe it's not technical like NKT's and Stericson's but face it - there are very few techincal people in this thread to discuss a device that hasn't even been officially acknowledged by the carrier yet! If you have a problem with any of his posts, (which you clearly do, even with your little disclaimer to the contrary) then you have a serious problem with the majority of us in here, pal.

Aside from warehouse rumors, there has been NO information in weeks. So there you have it. The thread either dies out, or people fill the lulls in conversation with booger picking and various other nonsense. That doesn't bother me so much when there's no new info forthcoming. You'll know when the real news hits. It will be impossible to miss. But I agree with the previous post; if you don't want the chit-chat and only want the news, Engadget is probably more your speed.

You are probably right, but unfortunately everyone here knows that this forum is the best source for information every 500 posts or so when there actually is new information. If I could get the same "nuggets" from a site where I didn't have to wade through all the BS, believe me I would. Since I can't, sorry, you guys are stuck with me =)

Honestly, if we didn't have off-topic banter, this thread would be so dead and we would all be bored. Any real solid news for the past couple of weeks would be maybe 15 posts. I enjoy coming in here and reading this stuff. Do I read every post? No. However, do I want to control certain people and take away their freedom to post whatever they like as long as they're not hurting anyone? No.

Again... Until real news is released, we have no choice but to just chat back and forth and keep this thread alive. If no one posted anything for a week in here, everyone would lose interest and we would all stop coming here. The constant conversation in this thread is what keeps it alive and what keeps the draw powerful for getting new members in here who have reliable contacts and relevant news for us. If the heart stops beating, the body dies. It's as simple as that. We need this constant stream of conversation in here, even if a majority of it is nothing that contains any new solid information.

I respect everyone's opinion, but honestly, I would say 95% of the people who come to this thread LOVE IT. Majority rules. I hate to sound like a broken record, but honestly if you don't like the way this thread is ran, just go to the first post and check back regularly to see if there are any more solid leads. If the back and forth conversation bothers you, I would suggest not reading it. Why would you subject yourself to something that upsets you that you obviously can't change?

That makes absolutely ZERO sense. Your right, complaining is allowed, but I dont quite understand why. If you want straight facts, only facts and updates, you should not be here. This is more of a community of people with like interests collaborating to find the latest info all the while talking about whatever we want while biting our nails in anticipation. Go refresh Endgadget if you want simply Incredible updates with nothing else. Why dont you do that? What is your reason for staying here if it is so incredibly painful?

Quick update on the Palm promos.. Pre is 50, Pixi is 30, no MIR, BOGA, mobile hotspot feature is free for as long as the phone remains active on the line, non-smartphone customers can upgrade to a Palm even if theyre not currently eligible starting on the 5th

engadget is late with news. it comes here first unfortunately then gets lost with 100 pages. its a shame someone doesnt just post the latest news once they get it here in a relevant thread with just solid info. and im not talkin about stuff like the evergreen page i mean stuff like the pic taken of the poster who showed there were 150k units in a warehouse

Here's why we NEED to keep the chat going in dull periods.

1)If we weren't on here and chatting, we wouldn't be doing an F5 every 10 seconds.
2) We wouldn't be checking here regularly, because there's not enough new posts to warrant checking in often.
3) Why would someone with news come to a Ghost Town and post it where no one is there to thank, or discuss it with them.
4) This leads to an even greater lack of news which starts Step 2 over again, and the info dries up, and this thread becomes extinct.

Do what I do: Scroll past short posts. Stop for big posts with a few thanks. More often than not youll skip a lot of the useless posts and get some form of information.

Everyone on here has something to contribute, whether it be specs, release date gossip, or banter. This place is a community and that's the reason anyone goes the extra mile to find something out to share.

That said, I can understand people's frustration. I truly enjoy the banter, but as we told the Mods we would self police. There's nothing wrong with some casual conversation and banter, but 3 or 4 pages of just chit chat might be a little excessive. If that's the case, there's nothing with NICELY acknowledging the self policing and asking people to take it to PMs.

The effort to be friendly and welcoming will take anyone far.

I really have my doubts about that screenshot we saw with the warehouse inventory. Just look at how it's framed, how everything related to the incredible is manually entered, how that source hasn't responded to any posts requesting to see additional info on the other tabs. Also no verizon logos anywhere.

I'm only sticking with what I've seen from NTK so far.

Because most of the people who haven't already been driven away from this thread are the ones happy to post the pointless banter. I didn't start this conversation by the way, someone else did and I just figured I'd step up and agree. Apparently my complaining falls well within the rules, according to everyone.

At least I'm being respectful about it.

Edit: BTW I sure there are a few hundred other users who agree with this train of thought, but wouldn't dare mention it because there are a few hundred others who would happily tell them "GTFO THEN!!!!"
