Sending sms when no reception

I'm frequently in an area that has patchy mobile reception. In the past, i've had symbian devices and when sms sending has failed, the phone has tried to re send a couple of minutes later. I've come from an iPhone 4s and I know that that doesn't have the feature, but was wondering if the s3 does. I was sending a message last night and I received a pop up that I think said something along lines of 'message will be sent when signal returns' or something. Can anyone confirm? This would be a really great feature.

IIRC, it notifies you that it wasn't sent and tells you that its in draft where you can re-send it. I don't know if it automatically re-sends.

It only happened once and it was a while ago, so take my info with a grain of salt. ;)

Thanks for the reply, I recall seeing some notification that it would resend when reception came back, but it disappeared quite quickly so I can't be sure!
