Root Error code 67, wireless tethering.

I have my Elite rooted, also have giantpunes kernel and a custom Tom flashed. I have attempted using Barnacle tether, and wireless tether for root user. Both of which say they are tethering but I can not pick up the signal on any of my other devices. The only thing I've found that remotely works, was a trial I found on the store. I would pick up the signal for a spiky second the error code 67 would pop up and the tethering would stop. I only lose my 3g connection for a couple seconds whenever I do this. Can anybody help me?

What other specific devices are you trying to tether to your phone?

They need to support ad hoc connections. If they do not, you might try Bluetooth tethering instead.

Yeah I have found my Galaxy Tab2 and nook will not see my phone to tether. I've tried a few different apps. As ktb mentioned not all devices can see an Ad-Hoc connection which is how most all tether apps work whereas wifi is infrastructure.

I use bluetooth tether so if your other device has bluetooth Put foxfi on phone and setup bluetooth tether and pdanet on other device (if possible) and tether that route.

I've tried connecting my PS3 and also attempted connecting via my blackberry to my elite.

I was able to connect my optimus v to my ps3 after flashing cm7 I was also wondering if the wireless tethering options I.e. on the optimus v will be available on the elite once the accomplish the final build for cm9 or cm7 I've heard they are working on

Checking a quick Google search would tell you that PS3 and Blackberry do not support ad hoc networking.

It's possible it might work with CM, we don't know yet.

I've noticed my OE also seems to boot itself off 3g if you try to start up a wifi hotspot on it... Is is safe to assume the stock rom has some sort of thing in it to disconnect from 3g if it detects the wifi is running as an AP?

After completely closing out of FoxFi, it will correct itself and reconnect to 3g, but any time a tether is started, it tosses that error code 67 and the 3g goes poof. From what I've gathered, error code 67 means no 3g service, which is understandable if something in the stock rom is doing that...

Yes.

Use should be able to use WiFi Tether for Root Users or Barnacle WiFi Tether.

You can use FoxFi for Bluetooth tethering with PdaNet Tablet on a tablet in case you're interested.

Nothing I've tried has worked for my galaxy s, laptop, ps3 etc. I have foxfi installed right now and when I turn it on there's no error code but it does boot me off 3G
