You mean syncing your phone with your laptop to give the laptop internet? You don't have to pay for that. At least my touch can do it over bluetooth or usb no problem out of the box even though alltel said I had to pay.

That movie was a classic ... Unfortunately, I doubt there will be an Incredible announcement today, probably next week or the week after, or the 34th of Farktober in the year 2279.
I will be going by the VZW store and will poke them again. Sooner or later, their answer will be to walk in the back and come out with a box, but I simply will not hold my breath for that answer.
If anything notable arises from my visit, I'll definitely post it here.

I've been reading some of the comments lately and it seems we need to clarify (again!) the intent of this thread and other helpful threads.
I suspect other sites, google, etc... have led many to this thread and they may lack the background and history of this thread and how it has evolved. I HIGHLY encourage everyone to read the very first post where Phases (forum Admin) made a statement/disclaimer a while ago when the thread first had big issues. In summary, this thread is meant for "water-cooler" discussion losely related to the Incredible. At times it gets off topic and the extent to which that is tolerated is subjective and depends on the ebb and flow of the conversation and any unique "personality challenges" going on. Generally speaking, if we're all getting along there is less stringent focus on topic, if there is fighting, bickering, inflamatory comments, etc... then I, and the staff (Mods/Admins), will be less tolerant and more likely to tighten the reins.
Having said that, for all our new members and as a general refresher for the vets, there are TWO threads for your viewing/reading pleasure:

aka this thread...general Incredible conversation, water-cooler style talk, can, and will, go off topic, includes everything from rumors, bogus info

The "Evergreen" thread...this includes every single bit of useful information that has been in some way "confirmed" and/or vetted...for all those who don't want to read through 435+ pages of chit chat, this thread is for you. It's always updated (hence evergreen) and will continue to be until the phone is released...PLEASE USE IT!
Now...my suspicion is that there is a group of people who struggle with themselves and their own needs/desires when it comes to this thread and this topic. I think the evergreen thread is simply not enough for them, they actually WANT to wade through the rumors, they hang on every word NKT, kcoan3, etc... say, they even want to see the fake junk that IncrediblyAnnoying doctored up, they want to hear the store stories, they may even be gluttons for Steve58's humor, etc...sorry, you can't have your cake and eat it too. Either you pick this thread which has some flaws but is largely a gem on the intrawebz or you just get the most pertinent and verified info on the evergreen thread.
Keep in mind you always have a few more options...
1. Start you own thread! We all have the same rights in this regard...you're welcome to put in the time to start and manage your own thread and run it exactly as you think the community would want.
2. Don't read it! This isn't meant to be a mean or rude comment so appologies if it comes across like that, but you always have the option to just leave...nobody is making you stay here. After 21k posts we've been through it all and don't need to hear any more about how you don't like it...if it's that bad, go elsewhere where it's better.
Hope this helps some of the newer folks as well as the vets.

Oh come on, it's not that bad... It's pretty obvious that at least one new phone if not a couple are coming very shortly. Verizon is basically having a fire sale over their previous models. First the Droid had a BOGO deal, then the Palm Pre phones had a price reduction, and now THOSE are BOGO as well. Even if it's still a month from now, it will most definitely be before the end of May.
I'm personally waiting patiently, as my NE2 is already up, and my contract expires in July. I want that new phone...but what can we do, right? Just have to take info where we can get it, I guess. If all we did was rumor mill and fixate on the plethora of unconfirmed information that has been fed to us over the past lord-knows-how-long it will only end up in disappointment and a lot of stressed out forum jockeys.

Thought I'd just mention that the Incredible was brought up at a gathering yesterday by a VZW bigwig. It's the first non-tester I've heard talk about it.
The jist was, there's some cools phones coming out... The N1, Incredible, a new Droid... blah blah blah. It was in response to someone asking about the iPhone rumor.

I've always hated meetings like that: the "just giving you a heads up" kind where you're basically sitting there wondering why you're not doing your job right now.
I find it hilarious that some bigwig would come down and tell you all, the people working with the phones, that they are releasing these cool new phones soon. Wouldn't you already have assumed that?
Just goes to show that leadership are the same no matter who you work for, I suppose...

Yea, just mentioned in a passing manner.
I haven't seen any info on a April 6th date. Doesn't mean it won't happen though.

hmm the next droid = Shadow maybe? I know the Incredible is bad azz but the shadow has HDMI. Someone talk me down from the ledge I have had my thoughts of waiting for the Shadow.

I have enjoyed lurking for the past few days and reading all the back and forth (with some exceptions). My NE2 is up on 4/27, so I am as content as possible under these exciting circumstances. IMO this thread has been approached exactly as it should be: There really is no news and people here seem to like sharing their misery and anticipation for the Incredible. As the saying goes, "Misery likes company". Keep it up and have fun with it until something actually happens. Meanwhile, I'll keep pressing F5 to feed my own addiction...
