Google Play store does not ask for PIN

Even though I have checked "Use PIN for purchases" check-box under settings, it never asks for PIN when I try to install some Apps from the Phone.

Luckily I have not registered a credit card yet with Google and have so far only downloaded free apps, but would like to hear from others in Canada who have been able to force Play store to ask for PIN before downloading any Apps.

In iPhone, it would ask for password atleast for the first time during a Power On and then once entered, it would not ask for password again till you powered off or locked the screen and waked the phone again.

But with S3 and Android, it never asks for a password or PIN, just straightaway allows downloads. I registered using my gmail id.

i know what you mean on apple it askes for pin even on free apps but i think google play store is only for paid apps

That sucks as you also don't want kids using your phone downloading any apps that might not be appropriate.

I just read on xda forums that this PIN is useless because of a flaw as it is stored locally in the phone. It seems you can go to Settings --> Applications -> All -> Google Play and select Clear Data and the PIN would be removed and you can download all you want.
