Is anyone using Light Flow or Light Manager?

I tried Light Manager and that didn't seem to work at all. So then I tried Light Flow Lite and got slightly better results. It works on the few options is allows for. I don't want a ton of things, just a few more than what came stock on the phone. It's been a little glitchy so far with one crash requiring a reboot to reset.

I thought about buying the full version because there are a few more apps in there I'd like to have lights for but I'm worried about the stability of the program.

Any info on your experiences with either of these programs appreciated!

I used Light Flow and it worked great except for one thing...it's a tremendous drain on the battery. Even with the Razr Maxx.

I'm using Light Flow with no adverse effects?? My usage in gsam battery says it's 0.3%.

I've got the paid version and have it set up for SMS, MMS, Facebook, Words with Friends, Scramble, meetings, and I have an alert for a contact. I think I have a few other things set up as well. Working great for me.

Light manager worked just fine for me. Has the odd force close when I try to enable/disable the LEDs though. The settings apply but it just closes up on me. No issues other than that though.

I had Light Flow Lite working pretty well so I went ahead and bought the full edition just so I could get one more alert for a commonly used program. Mistake. I'm not sure what the deal is but it's been a nightmare ever since. I finally shut it down completely and went back to the Lite version and it works fine minus the one program no longer covered of course. I'll keep it on the phone since I paid for it but I'm very disappointed in the full version. I plan to contact the programmer to let him know. Since our phones are so new maybe an update coming soon will fix things.

Methos: do you mind telling us which app seems to be the problem? There could be others with the same or maybe one of us is not having the problem and could help with troubleshooting.

Thought I'd try one more time. It works well but still sucks battery. I'll keep trying from time to time but for now, it's been deleted.

I went to the developer's web page and followed some instructions there and now it seems to be working fine. Here's a couple things I had to do:

Completely un-install LightFlow Lite. Even though I had it completely turned off they recommend getting rid of it completely.

Also found out that if you swipe clear notifications from the pull down without actually going into the program the light will still flash. There is a setting in the LightFlow program under each app setting called 'Pulldown notification bar' - clicking on this option will clear off the notification after you pull down the bar and clear the light.

As of right now the program seems to be working quite well. My phone is always on me and never goes unnoticed for very long so I haven't noticed a big battery drain from flashing notifications. You can set the duration of how long you want the notification light to last - 15 minutes is the minimum. I set most of them to 1 hour since that is probably the max time I'm out of touch with my phone (like on a motorcycle ride). The only one I left on longer was Missed Call because that is the only one that could be important not to miss.

Also, even though there are programmable light flash durations, they will not work on our phones. Apparently Moto went with a hardware actuator for this phone instead of software so the flash rate is steady.

If you are having problems there is a good amount of info on the developer's web site. I'm now digging the program.

I noticed a difference in the flash cycle when changing from medium to "fastest" and I'm also able to get mine to "stay on all the time".

In fact, I had to change all mine from fastest to medium because fastest was too fast (but on the original Maxx it was just right).

Good to know. I was just regurgitating what was written on the developer's web site. I have not played with durations much.

I have been trying to see how many different colors I could get. I know there are several that just will not reproduce supposedly (Orange, White, Pink - again, according to the web site) but I'm trying to get colors that differentiate enough to be worthwhile using.

So far these are the ones I've come up with that work well:

Cyan (a light blue)
Green
Purple (sort of)
Yellow
Red
Blue (a darker blue)

Many of the other colors tend to just all look the same as other colors although I admit I have not tried them all. Also, the Test program doesn't work real well. It worked the first time but since then whenever I try to use it, it just keeps blinking green. Not sure why this is. It would probably reset with a reboot but I haven't tried that either.

It would be good if others posted what colors work well for them. I really only have a few programs that I care to be notified about anyway and what I have above would probably cover me but it's always good to hear what others are doing/using.

Firstly, I would like to add that I also had notification light issues, as many here, and other boards have posted about, but they all seem to have gone away after my first reboot.

Right now I am on on stock notifications as light flow lite, didn't have all the programs I would like it to have, unfortunately. However, when using lightflow, I can echo the last posters' color choices.

I found that if the light color with Light flow wont work ( white ... and whatever color don't work) the sound notifications wont work either.
Hope this will help someone with light flow.

i cant get lightflow to flash for gmail. not sure what the issue is. i did just add the 4.2 gmail apk does that cauas an issue. I have gmail set to green. which i think worked before using the new gmail app but not sure. anyone have a fix

Lime and yellow are awfully close in color - going to test that right now with this post which will also tell me if the Tapatalk notification is working as well!

I use light flow. I cannot tell lime from yellow. Perhaps if I had 2 razrs next to each other I cohld tell the difference but if it isn't obvious it has no value does it? I have white, purple, red, green, blue, and greenish yellow. No other colors can be discerned as different imo. I cannot discern the different shades of those basic colors.

Yes I ended up getting rid of lime, no difference from yellow. I haven't tried white yet. You can also get cyan, it shows up as a light blue very different from regular blue.

My regular blue is dark as well but I have no problem seeing it. It's my favorite color and I use it for text alerts.
