Help Phone is not vibrating anymore??

Hey guys, so I'm not sure what happened but last couple of days my phone has not vibrated from calls/text messages even though it's on vibrate... not mute.

Does anyone have a solution? has this happened to anyone before?
I tried rebooting the phone (twice) and nope, I still get no vibrates.....

You know, every once in a while that happens to my phone..
I go: menu>settings>sound> ...and make sure that 'sound and vibration' and 'haptic feedback' are on.
One of them will be turned off for some reason. I can't figure out why..

On the HTC desire (my previous phone), the vibrator would just stop working. It would get caught up because of the angle it stopped at (it's basically a cam / off centre circle, spinning). All it needed was a little tap on the back of the device. Try that if it happens again.

Now it's not working again... i just don't understand lol. Hoping it's a software issue and not hardware.
But I tried slapping my phone for a bit but that didn't work either.......

And now it's not... it seems like it works for 3 days, then it doesn't for two weeks.
This is terrible!! I hate not knowing if anyone is calling/texting me.....

I prefer not to run it through the warranty because
1) I don't want to be phoneless
2) I don't want to lose my settings and data and everything

:(

I'm desperately waiting for a software update hoping that it might fix it

id rather have a phone that works, most if not all data can be backed up, does your carrier not provide you with a loaner while your phone is being serviced?

I have this, however it vibrates for calls but not texts - phone is set to vibrate only and "sound and vibration" checked in settings. I think it's since I updated to JB. Any ideas?

Also doesn't vibrate for emails (gmail) on arrival when it did before.

Oh I'm not sure. I've never needed to use a warranty before honestly....

I might try resetting my phone back to factory and if it's still not vibrating I'll go through a warranty. Do you know how to make a backup so I can get everything back once I do a reset?

Check your vibration settings for your messaging app. Open up your messaging app, press the menu button, and see if you can find an option for vibration

Kies will backup your settings, pictures, music, movies

Google will backup your contacts, calanders

I use App Backup and Restore to backup the apps(not the app data) just the apps so you can re-install offline

SMS Backup+ backs up SMS and Call logs

Yeah so I finally called them up after 4.1 didn't fix anything and I just got my phone back and they replaced the whole unit. They were very very quick at fixing and shipping it!
