Galaxy S III picture messages?

I got the Galaxy SIII for Metro PCS on October 19 and I haven't been able to send any picture messages they're like really slow. Is that normal?

I noticed when sending pics on my Motion that the files are data compressed by the phone but they transmit quickly.

Are the Galaxy S3 photos data compressed or are they large files ?

When I send slideshows there appears to be a 500k limit per slideshow per MMS.

My Esteem compresses my pics also. Lol, but sometimes they're too large to compress. I do know that the person you are sending the pics to needs to be able to receive them also.

Yeah before the phone trys to send it says it's too large and it compresses
But it doesn't send it even if it's just a screenshot or something.
