Jelly Bean vs. ICS for the HD MAXX

What is so much better about Jelly Bean over ICS? I test drove a regular RAZR MAXX back in the early summer for about a week and returned it because it wasn't quite there yet and I wanted to wait to see what the iPhone 5 and RAZR HD MAXX had to offer.

Back then the regular MAXX had Gingerbread and people were complaining that ICS was out and yet Motorola was still shipping out the MAXX with GB. Then ICS finally came out and people started to update to it only to then complain about it and wanted to go back!

So my question is - is Jelly Bean REALLY that much better than ICS? If yes please give specifics. When Motorola finally gets around to releasing it for the HD MAXX I don't want to update and then regret it. My HD MAXX running ICS runs great and I'm used to it so unless Jelly Bean really blows my skirt up I'm going to stick with the devil I know.

Any feedback on the benefits of going to Jelly Bean greatly appreciated. And even if it IS really that much better, I'm still going to wait until all of YOU update to make sure it's a smooth transition!!!

Should be smoother with less/no lag, but then again it is a moto so they seem to F up updates I mean they took a perfectly good phone with the maxx on gb and made it more laggy on ICS. Project butter should help, along with the other improvements that come with JB

I saw great performance improvement from ICS to JB on my Gnex. It feels much faster overall and battery life nearly doubled. Those complaining about battery drains on JB are the ones using location services in Google Now and/or Map and refusing to turn it off when not using it.

I read that OG Razr went backward in overall performance with ICS upgrade from GB. I guess its hardware was designed to work best with GB. But since Razr/Maxx HD is released with ICS, it should see good performance gain with JB update if Moto doesn't screw it up.

I kept my RAZR from last year....and ICS didnt make performance worse in my experience. There were functionality and UI differences, but it was about the same. Maybe those folks complaining didnt change the animation settings.

Yea...the main difference between ICS and JB is Project Butter.

Go be honest the only improvement in ICS I've seen is underlining spelling errors. I miss GB flash player.

JB is definitely a huge improvement over ICS. Everything is faster and smoother. It's funny having a Nexus, you forget that most other phones are still on ICS or older.
