Help New to Galaxy S3 so just some basic questions :D

Isa Al

Hey

I am new to Galaxy S3 so I just have some basic questions :D

1-how can I know which android I am using and how can I update it and if I update it will I lose all the data or like the iPhone nothing will change?

2-When I type a number and put the phone on my ear it doesn't call the number so how can I do that?

3-how can I control or change the settings of the sensors of the phone like the camera sensor and other sensors?

and sorry for too many questions but I have just moved form iPhone to S3 :D

Thanks

1. Settings -> About Device at the bottom you will see Android Version 4.0.?
When you update you shouldn't lose anything as far as I know.
2. I believe this only works when answering a call. I don't remember seeing anywhere that you can automatically make a call by putting the phone to your ear after dialling a number. You can automatically dial someone if you are in the middle of messaging them though. You just put the phone to your ear and it will call them.
3. I have no clue...hopefully someone else does :)

For number 2: If you go into settings and then "motion" and enable "Direct call" the phone will call whatever contact is displayed on the screen when you move it to your ear. It also will call the person you are currently texting, etc.

I thought I might have been incorrect. On the Samsung website it says it works while you're texting.
