My samsung galaxy s3 lights up for no reason ...

While my phone is not in use it suddenly lights up without any notification, message or other reason. The screen will light up for approximately two seconds then go dark again as it should. About five seconds later my phone will light up again. It often does this for about five times until another hour or two later when it repeats the whole odd occurance again. I have disabled any notifications in the System menu, turned off wifi access, mobile data access, cleared the internet browser`s cache, history and other options -

any solution for this issue ?

The only time my sgs3 lights up is when the battery is 100% full and never does it again.

you culprit could be

a) A defective usb cord or charger that lets the phone charge to 100% then discharge then charge again to 100%

b)a damaged usb port that does above

c)you have a rogue app that is doing something funny. uninstall you last app downloaded and see if that helps. you might have to go back a couple of apps (you may not have noticed it when it first started)

Mine started doing it after my Jellybean update, and I've only noticed it when it's not plugged in to a charger. There has been at least time that the screen stayed on. I just figure it's a bug, and will be worked out with the next update to the update. ;)

no actually it doesn't light up when battery is low , it lights up all the time , 5 times in a row and every time it stays lit for about 5 seconds or less , it's driving me crazy

Same here ... but when it lights up for me, it does so with very limited brightness ...

I suspect you have an app that is accessing something perhaps on the net and it's lighting the phone up. Try turning off a group or apps at a time including things like weather and such and disabling all synching. See if you can find the culprit.

Solution is
1- Go to "Settings"
2- Wi-Fi/Advanced settings
3- Uncheck "Network Notification"
%99 your problem will be solved.

It came with JellyBean 4.1 update. I hope they will update new version for settings to fix that issue .
