Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Thinking of coming back to metro PCs.

Hey I know a lot of you guys came from the esteem forums and that was an amazing community. So there's no shocker when I say that I am considering coming back to metro PCs and getting the s3 with them. I can honestly say I miss that low cell phone bill. Have things improved on metro's network? What are the average data speeds you guys are getting with the s3 here in fl?

Carlos... I just bought the Galaxy S3 for Metro and It's a sweet device as I am sure you are well aware of.

I live outside of Detroit and my speeds are between 3-5 mbps down regularly. I have heard a lot of people in Florida are getting much higher speeds than that.

Come on back...you know you love that lower bill!!

I do miss that phone bill...I'm currently paying $113 a month for 1 line with only 5gb of data to work with.I have a garnet red s3 now with at&t. I didn't realize how important a unlimited data plan was and sprint is horrendous for what they charge. I have not been on the android forums much because I have been over in the xda forums. How is development going for the s3 on metro PCs ? I see you guys have a taste of cm10 up and running.

It's going excellent

we have many roms and more to come, so come join us or else i'm sending n4sty after ya. :D;)

Here in California near the L.A area I get pretty average speeds for 4G. I get barely 2 - 3 at times, but that's good enough for me.

I got the phone mostly for my at home Wifi, which I get 30 Mbps on regularly. It's great, but I wonder when we'll get Jelly Bean and if ever.

I didn't come from the esteem, I came from the Samsung Galaxy Indulge... horrible experience with that phone, as soon as I saw someone post on the forum saying the S3 was on metro I had to buy it.

From what I hear the at&t version is wired a bit differently. Where would I go to see if it works for at&t version?

Its going to be a no go on flashing my at&t s3 to metro pcs. Metro runs on cdma and at&t is hspa so my s3 will not work with data and all on metros network. Which means I haft to raise 550 smackers lol. Anyone want to throw a dollar at me lol.

Lol same thing happen to me. I had the Indulge phone and I hated it. I brought the S3 as soon as MPCS got it online.

No need to sell it, my buddie flash his sprint s3 to metro and everything is working and his 4g so go see wat they tell u.
Thats news to me im assuming they would have to sell you a uicc card with it to make 4g work? people like that need to be on the forum. i would love to see a converted gsm phone into a hybrid cdma/Lte phone. also would like to see speed test. if all this is true then ya relize this would be considered a major break through? Pnut get your friend to join us im eager to have him do some tests.

thats cool to know, i was gunna go with simple mobile for a bit. they are a MVNO of tmobile and use their network. :)

Also from what i saw metro post to a customer on there facebook page, that they sell the uicc card for $5 and the customer told them he paid $15 for it at the corp store. So i'm assuming i could go buy a sim card from ST and or t-mobile and check it out.

ive got 2 tmo sim cards (was gunna go to them before i chose metropcs) rather than you spending money on getting a sim to test ill use one of mine :)

Thanks bud, also look what i found and when i read it, i was saying it only get's better. Even on older CDMA/LTE phones, MetroPCS customers will see coverage improvements by latching onto T-Mobile's compatible LTE network, Legere said. ;)

Get ready for a surprise at the end of this month, we will have a prl that enables our gs3 to use sprint's EVDO when roaming. ;)
