Help s3-how to install ics again ?

hi !
i have a galaxy s3 and i recently downloaded the jelly bean update. i know its supposed to be good but i really hate it! my phone is much slower and battery gets drained really fast.
i want to install ics again. how do i do that? this is my first android phone so dont have much knowledge.

Jellybean is faster than ics and better battery so the fact you're pointing out the opposite means something went wrong.

Often after an update, all the rubbish data from apps and settings on the previous android version can make the update appear buggy. Things stop working, settings not sticking, running slowly, battery draining faster - all indicative of this.

Now what I'm going to suggest often gets responses like "that's drastic" etc. It is but I'm not suggesting this for no reason. It is the best way (and often the only way) to resolve issues after an update..... that's right.... Factory Reset *gasp* :eek:

It sounds like a lot of hassle but it's not. Your contacts are probably in gmail already. You can put your sms there too with sms backup+. Copy everything from your internal sd card to your computer and you're good to go.

...sure you have to reinstall your apps, set your homescreens up, set your alarms and ringtones but its not too bad. If you didn't untick the option for Google backup at set up, all your apps may even reinstall themselves....
 
Have you tried doing a factory reset before deciding to revert back to ICS? Most of the time, it does solve many issues. If you want to downgrade, you need to use Odin and you also need to grab the ICS firmware of your S3.

I don't know where you live, but any I9300 stock ROM should be fine, just go to sammobile.com and register yourself.

thanks a lot! i did do a factory reset and its seems a lot better now. the phone is much faster, im yet to test the battery performance.
i am facing a problem with my calender though. i had synced everything to my google account before doing the factory reset, but now all my calender entries have disappeared. i got my contacts back as soon as i registered gmail account, but no luck with calender. any solutions??:confused:
 
Under settings -> Accounts and Sync
Do you have it set to sync the calendar? Click on the account. Then be sure there's a check next to "Sync Calendar."
 
Can you see events in you're Google calendar on a computer?

Also in s planner, calendars, is your Google calendar ticked?
 
Next time, make sure you are syncing everything you need, it comes quite handy in times of necessity. I hope you didn't lost something important.
