Do Touchdown HD and Microsoft Exchange Active Sync Need To Coexist?

Newbie
I recently "upgraded" to Touchdown TD and now use it for my email, calendar contacts, tasks etc. At this point I don't see myself using the stock email, calendar or contacts any longer. I sync all these with my corporate Exchange server. When I look at the Accounts listed under Accounts in Settings is see:
Google - for my gmail
Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync - tapping my corp email address brings up a sync window indicating I am syncing Calendar, Contacts, Email and Tasks
TouchDown HD - Sync Contacts is the only option and it is checked.

The question I have is what (if anything) can I disable/delete/unsync etc? I'd rather not be syncing items unnecessarily to the stock apps if it's not required.

I am on stock AT&T 4.1.1

If you're now using Touchdown you can get rid of the Exchange Active Sync account in Settings > Accounts, unless you have another ActiveSync account other than work one set up of course. That sounds like you're are still syncing native email to your work account as well as TD.

If you have TD set up to copy contacts to phone then only thing that should appear under RD in S settings> accounts will be contracts sync. Much easier making work calls, texting via normal Phone/Contacts apps.

Thanks Saltire. I was hoping that was the case. I will delete the ActiveSync Account and hopefully free up some of the "junk".

New to Android, would like to use the native HTC One Mail app, Does the phone consolidate email, text and phone calls under under the contact? As a long time BB user, it was easy to go into a contact and see all 3 activites consolidated under the person's contact card which made it easy to find specific email or text.
