Help Kies and Windoes 8

Has anyone managed to ever achieve a backup of the s3 through kies using windows 8. At first i was getting this device is not compatible with Kies 2.0 and now im getting 'preparing' for about 10 minutes 'Data backup can not proceed because of an unexpected error'

and it does it constantly, grr!!
 
No problem, worked flawlessly! going form windoz 7 to do the update was like pulling teeth! windoz 8 as soon as i plugged in phone kies popped up asked to place all my crap on the computer! I think it really depends on how you have your pc set up high security firewalls and so on may be the issue!
 
try disabling UAC and see if it works also what exactly do u need to backup? you can pretty much backup anything without kies.

Not just the software; the hardware, too. I'm on my THIRD. The first two fried the SD cards and corrupted the internal file system. NOW, this one is displaying file system errors when playing music files!

First, and LAST, Samsung I will ever purchase.
